Description
Cath Lab Tech - Travel/Contract
Location: Olympia, Washington
Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology
Shift: Day shift, 4x10 hour shifts (6:30 AM - 5:00 PM)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Perform all diagnostic procedures in the cardiac catheterization lab including PCI (stents, balloon angioplasty, laser, rota, impella, IABP, CTO), Structural Heart procedures (TAVR, Balloon Valvuloplasty, Watchman), and Electrophysiology (EPS, Afib/Flutter ablations, BIV and pacemaker implants).
- On-call required: 1 call day per week and one weekend every 5-6 weeks.
- Rhythm interpretation skills preferred.
- Charting system: EPIC.
- Facility type: Short Term Acute Care with 325 staffed beds.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Cath Lab Technologist license in Washington (no pending licenses accepted).
- Minimum 1 year of Cath Lab Technologist experience, including experience within the last year.
- Current certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- ARRT-R or CCI RCIS certification
- Prior travel experience required; first-time travelers not accepted.
- Local candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are not eligible for this travel contract.
Compliance and Documentation Requirements
- Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID).
- Social Security Card (as applicable for I9 and state requirements).
- Background check within 90 days covering all locations lived/worked in the past 7 years; must be updated annually.
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and updated monthly.
- Education verification required for all candidates.
- Employment application covering at least the last 5 years of employment.
- Minimum of 2 professional references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting.
- Skills checklist updated annually (if applicable).
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO, confirming ability to work with or without accommodation.
- Drug screen (9 panel) within 12 months of start.
- Immunizations and health documents:
- TDAP vaccine within 10 years or signed declination.
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, updated annually.
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer with acceptable documentation.
- Hepatitis B vaccination series or signed declination.
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer with acceptable documentation.
- Seasonal flu vaccine or declination during flu season.
- COVID vaccination record preferred; declinations accepted.
- Respiratory safety clearance required annually for respirator use.
- Fit mask test required for travel candidates, updated annually.
Additional Requirements
- Must comply with float policy; may be required to float to other nearby facilities.
- Passport-style badge photo with neutral background required.
- Completion of annual regulatory and specialty-specific training modules via assigned LMS system.
- EPIC training modules required and must be completed within orientation week.

- No local candidates within 50 miles accepted for this travel contract.
- Prior travel experience is mandatory; first-time travelers will not be considered.
- On-call and weekend coverage required as specified.
- All required documentation and background checks must be current and compliant before start date.
This position offers an opportunity to work in a high-acuity cardiac catheterization lab with advanced interventional and electrophysiology procedures in a well-staffed acute care hospital setting.
