Cath Lab Tech - Travel/Contract

Location: Olympia, Washington
Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology
Shift: Day shift, 4x10 hour shifts (6:30 AM - 5:00 PM)
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Perform all diagnostic procedures in the cardiac catheterization lab including PCI (stents, balloon angioplasty, laser, rota, impella, IABP, CTO), Structural Heart procedures (TAVR, Balloon Valvuloplasty, Watchman), and Electrophysiology (EPS, Afib/Flutter ablations, BIV and pacemaker implants).
• On-call required: 1 call day per week and one weekend every 5-6 weeks.
• Rhythm interpretation skills preferred.
• Charting system: EPIC.
• Facility type: Short Term Acute Care with 325 staffed beds.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Cath Lab Technologist license in Washington (no pending licenses accepted).
• Minimum 1 year of Cath Lab Technologist experience, including experience within the last year.
• Current certifications:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • ARRT-R or CCI RCIS certification
• Prior travel experience required; first-time travelers not accepted.
• Local candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are not eligible for this travel contract.

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

• Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID).
• Social Security Card (as applicable for I9 and state requirements).
• Background check within 90 days covering all locations lived/worked in the past 7 years; must be updated annually.
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and updated monthly.
• Education verification required for all candidates.
• Employment application covering at least the last 5 years of employment.
• Minimum of 2 professional references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting.
• Skills checklist updated annually (if applicable).
• Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO, confirming ability to work with or without accommodation.
• Drug screen (9 panel) within 12 months of start.
• Immunizations and health documents:

  • TDAP vaccine within 10 years or signed declination.
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, updated annually.
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer with acceptable documentation.
  • Hepatitis B vaccination series or signed declination.
  • Varicella vaccination or positive titer with acceptable documentation.
  • Seasonal flu vaccine or declination during flu season.
  • COVID vaccination record preferred; declinations accepted.
• Respiratory safety clearance required annually for respirator use.
• Fit mask test required for travel candidates, updated annually.

Additional Requirements

• Must comply with float policy; may be required to float to other nearby facilities.
• Passport-style badge photo with neutral background required.
• Completion of annual regulatory and specialty-specific training modules via assigned LMS system.
• EPIC training modules required and must be completed within orientation week.

• Prior travel experience is mandatory; first-time travelers will not be considered.
