Description
Job Opportunity: Nuclear Medicine Tech
Location: Greenville, South Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Work Schedule
- Day shift: Four 10-hour shifts per week (7:30 AM – 5:00 PM)
- Call required once a week from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM and every 3rd weekend (Saturday/Sunday)
- Weekend shifts as needed, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM; call coverage 7:00 AM – 8:00 PM on weekends
Job Responsibilities & Procedures
- Perform nuclear medicine procedures including:
- Pluvicto, Lutathera, Y90 theraspheres, I-131 thyroid therapies
- SPECT/CT imaging
- Blood volume studies
- General nuclear medicine and cardiac nuclear medicine
Required Qualifications
- Valid Nuclear Medicine Technologist license in South Carolina
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist, with experience within the last year
- Certification:
- ARRT(N) or NMTCB registry required
- SCRQSA certification required
- ARRT certification required
- BLS certification required
- Experience with Epic electronic medical record system
Required Certifications & Compliance
- Current and valid certifications must not expire within 30 days of start date
- ACLS, BLS certifications (AHA or ARC only; RQI acceptable) as applicable
- Other certifications may be required based on unit assignment (e.g., TNCC, PALS, NRP)
- HIPAA training and acknowledgment required annually
- Pass/Fail testing for medication and arrhythmia competency required prior to start
- Background checks including 7-year history, alias searches, and state/county verifications within 12 months of start
- Drug screening within 1 year of start, updated annually (5-panel minimum)
- Immunizations and health screenings required:
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 90 days of start
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within 10 years if working in high-risk areas
- Flu vaccine or approved exemption required annually (not required for remote workers)
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella immunity documentation required (vaccines or positive titers)
- Hepatitis B vaccination series, positive titer, or signed declination required
Systems & Technology
- Medication system: Omnicell
- Documentation system: EPIC (minimum 1 year experience required)
Additional Requirements
- Photo for badge must meet facility standards (passport-style, plain background, no alterations)
- Completion of online orientation modules within 72 hours of assignment acceptance (approximately 12 hours)
- Physical exam within 1 year attesting ability to meet job demands
- Respirator fit test completed onsite during orientation (N95 masks commonly used)
Notes
- First-time travelers will be reviewed based on experience; prior travel experience is not explicitly required
- Compliance with all background, credentialing, and health requirements is mandatory before start
- Floating policy and contractor acknowledgment forms must be signed and updated annually
