Job Opportunity: CVOR Registered Nurse
Location: Anchorage, Alaska
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Shift: Day shift, 4 days a week, 10 hours per day (7:00 AM - 5:00 PM)
- Guaranteed Hours: 70 hours per 2 weeks; may be called off for one 10-hour shift every 2 weeks
- On-Call: Yes, weekend on-call required
- Floating: Clinician may be required to float within scope to meet facility needs
- Block Schedule: Open to accommodating block schedules
- Locals: Not accepted; candidate’s permanent address must be at least 50 miles from the facility
- Pending License: Accepted, but strong preference for Alaska RN license in hand

Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Alaska
- Minimum 1 year of Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association or Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification
Experience & References
- Minimum 1 year of specialty experience required
- First-time travelers accepted
- Minimum of 2 professional references covering at least 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting
- Employment application covering at least last 5 years required
Background and Compliance Requirements
- Background check within 90 days covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years; must be updated annually
- Education verification required (nursing degree verification mandatory)
- State and federal exclusion screenings (EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG) required within 30 days of start and updated monthly
- Various state-specific background checks and attestations may apply depending on placement
- Photo for badge required (passport style with neutral background)
- Completion of annual regulatory and specialty-specific training modules via LMS required
Additional Notes
- Candidates may be required to float to other nearby facilities within the system
- Parking is free at the facility
- Scrubs are provided
- Epic electronic health record system used for charting
