Job Opportunity: Interventional Radiology Registered Nurse

Location: York, Pennsylvania
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Must have experience in Cath Lab and Interventional Radiology (IR).
  • Schedule: Four 10-hour day shifts (6:30 AM – 5:00 PM).
  • On-call coverage required for off-shifts, weekends, and holidays with a 30-minute response time.
  • May care for COVID-19 patients.
  • Tobacco and fragrance-free facility.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Pennsylvania.
  • Minimum 2 years of Interventional Radiology nursing experience, including experience within the last year.
  • Certifications: ACLS and BLS issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
  • Experience with Epic electronic health record system.

Schedule & Work Conditions

  • 4x10 hour day shifts per week.
  • On-call duties including weekends and holidays as needed.
  • Floating to other units as needed.
  • Maximum return-to-office (RTO) time: 7 days.

Required Documentation & Compliance

  • Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID).
  • I-9 attestation and E-Verify compliance.
  • Background checks including:
    • 7-year criminal background check.
    • Pennsylvania State Police PATCH search (must be finalized prior to start).
    • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start.
    • Pennsylvania FBI fingerprinting within 1 year of start (may start with results pending but must be finalized within 45 days).
  • Education verification of highest degree/diploma/transcripts.
  • Professional references: 2 required within last 3 years.
  • Most recent resume or employment application.
  • Annual skills checklist.
  • Pennsylvania Child Abuse (Childline) search completed 3 business days prior to start and renewed every 5 years.

Health & Safety Requirements

  • Physical exam within 90 days of start, signed by MD, DO, PA, or NPT.
  • Fit mask test required 3 business days prior to start for patient-facing roles; PAPR training if fit test failed.
  • Immunizations and titers required:
    • Hepatitis B (positive titer or full vaccine series of 3 doses) or declination form.
    • TDAP vaccine within last 10 years.
    • Negative TB test (QGold or TSpot) within 90 days of start; chest X-ray if positive TB.
    • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: 2 vaccines or positive titer with booster requirements if titers are negative/equivocal.
    • Varicella: 2 vaccines or positive titer with booster requirements if titers are negative/equivocal.
    • Seasonal flu vaccine or valid medical/religious exemption during flu season.
    • COVID-19 vaccine or valid medical/religious exemption or declination.
  • Negative 9-panel drug test within 1 year of start (required by agency, not the facility).
  • Respiratory safety clearance within 1 year of start, renewed annually.

Facility-Specific Requirements

  • Clear, passport-style photo for badge (no masks, sunglasses, or hats except religious headwear).
  • Completion and signing of facility-required documents including:
    • Medical Statement Non-Employee Ability to Work form.
    • Commitment to Health & Wellness.
    • Code of Conduct.
    • Confidentiality Agreement.
    • Non-Employee Affidavit.
  • Completion of Learning Management System (LMS) modules on PC/laptop prior to start (not on cell phones).
  • New hire orientation must be completed by the end of the first day.

Competency Exams

  • Medication/Pharmacology competency exam as applicable.
  • Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam (pass/fail) required within 72 hours of contract signing.
  • Acknowledgement of pass/fail testing must be completed within 48 hours of contract signing.

This position offers a structured schedule with on-call responsibilities and requires strong clinical experience in Cath Lab and IR nursing, along with compliance with extensive credentialing, health, and safety requirements.
