Shift Details

  • Day shift, 5 days a week (Monday to Friday), 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM (5x8 hour shifts)
  • On-call rotation: Weekday nights (12 AM - 8 AM), weekends and holidays 24 hours on call, rotated among all nurses
  • Weekend requirement: Every other weekend (2 weekends per month)
  • Occasional weekend day shift (8 AM - 4:30 PM)
  • No holiday time off allowed; no time off the day before or after holidays; no time off on weekends
  • Guaranteed 40 hours per week

Job Description

  • Provide nursing care in Pain Management and Interventional Radiology departments
  • Mandatory floating within Radiology and Pain departments as needed
  • Staff required to wear lead protection

Requirements/Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois
  • Minimum 2 years of Interventional Radiology experience, with at least some experience within the last year
  • Experience in Pain Management
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification

Additional Requirements

  • Government-issued photo ID (driver’s license or state ID)
  • Background check within 12 months covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years; includes SSN trace, nationwide sex offender, OFAC, and others as required
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start
  • Physical exam within 12 months, signed by PA, NP, DO, or MD
  • Fit mask test (N95 or equivalent) within 1 year; medical or religious exemptions require approval for onsite PAPR use
  • Immunizations and health screenings:
    • Tdap vaccine within 10 years or signed declination
    • Negative TB test (QGold or TSPOT) within 12 months; PPD not accepted after 12/15/2025
    • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer with booster if low titer
    • Hepatitis B series, titer, or signed declination
    • Varicella vaccination or positive titer with booster if low titer
    • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption during flu season (Oct 1 - May 4)
  • Negative 9-panel drug screen within 90 days of start; testing initiated within 48 hours of contract signing
  • Required competency exams including medication/pharmacology and color blindness testing (to be completed within 12 months of start)
  • Annual skills checklist required

Notes

  • Local candidates within 75 miles preferred but travel candidates accepted
  • This is a mandatory float facility; nurses must be willing to float within the Radiology and Pain departments
  • On-call schedule includes nights, weekends, and holidays with no holiday time off except for on-call duties
  • No time off allowed on weekends or adjacent to holidays
