Description
Physical Therapist - Outpatient (Travel/Contract)
Location: Tucson, Arizona
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day shift, Monday to Friday (8:00 AM – 4:30 PM)
Hours: 40 hours per week (5 days x 8 hours)
Job Summary
Provide physical therapy evaluation and treatment for outpatient physical therapy patients, including injured workers. Supervise physical therapy assistants and technicians, perform various functional and ergonomic evaluations, and maintain communication with referring physicians and rehab nurses. Participate in marketing and community outreach as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate and treat patients per physician referral or direct access.
- Supervise physical therapy assistants and technicians according to PT plans of care.
- Perform Work Hardening Evaluations, Functional Capacity Evaluations, ergonomic evaluations, and post-offer testing (e.g., WorkSTEPS, APET).
- Utilize modalities and exercise equipment available in the facility.
- Manage scheduling, referrals, and phone communications as needed.
- Maintain accurate billing code usage for various payer types.
- Provide weekly patient progress updates to rehab nurses and timely notes to referring physicians.
- Maintain professional relationships with patients, physicians, case managers, insurance representatives, and other contacts.
- Assist with business development and marketing efforts, including community event participation.
- Perform additional tasks as required to support the facility.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Physical Therapist license in Arizona.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Physical Therapist within the last year.
- Experience in an outpatient physical therapy setting.
Additional Information
- Government-issued photo ID and emergency contact form required prior to start.
- Annual renewal of background checks including EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG required.
- Maintain all licensure and employment information for liability insurance coverage.
