Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Seattle, Washington
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Position Details

• Specialty: Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse
• Shift: Nights (either 3 or 4 shifts of 12 hours each)
• Hours per week: 36
• Patient Ratios: 1:1
• Floating: Within hospital only (no floating to sister hospitals)
• Weekend Requirement: Yes (unless schedule states otherwise)
• Block Scheduling: Not accommodated unless specified
• Locals Accepted: Yes
• Pending License: Not accepted
• Return to Office Restrictions: Maximum 1 week off, must work holidays
• Unit Description: Responsible for adult women of childbearing age; includes 7 labor beds, 3 triage beds, 2 PACU beds, and 16 mother-baby beds
• Charting System: EPIC (Epic experience required)

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Washington
• Minimum 3 years of Labor and Delivery nursing experience, with experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Certifications:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
  • EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring)

Additional Requirements and Notes

• Must complete EPIC/Alaris Integration video and attestation prior to start
• Required to complete Umbilical Cord Blood Collection Training with certificate submission
• Photo for badge required (DMV style, no selfies) due Monday prior to start
• Suicide Prevention Training required if using a multi-state license other than WA
• WA multi-state licensed nurses must complete demographic attestation prior to assignment
• Medication and pharmacology competency exams required, including dosage calculations (minimum 80%)
• Color blindness testing required annually starting 5/4/2026
• Competency exams for dysrhythmia/EKG interpretation required for nursing floats and critical care units
• Pyxis agreement required for return candidates with gaps in assignment (not applicable to this facility)
• Parking: Monthly parking cost approximately $85 (paid by candidate)

• In low census situations, providers may be called off without charge or placed on-call in 4-hour increments up to one shift per two-week cycle
• Ambulatory or surgical areas closed on weekends/holidays will not schedule travelers or meet minimum hours during those times
