Registered Nurse – Telemetry (Night Shift)

Location: Greensburg, Pennsylvania
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Shift: Night (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each; 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
• Patient Ratios: Minimum 5-6 patients per nurse
• Specialty: Telemetry nursing

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Pennsylvania
• Minimum 2 years of telemetry nursing experience, including telemetry experience within the last year
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• ACLS certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Required Documentation & Compliance

• Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
• Emergency Contact Form (must be completed prior to start)
• Background checks within 30 days of start, including:

  • Social Security Trace and County searches (last 7 years)
  • Nationwide Sex Offender search
  • Pennsylvania Statewide background check (Patch Certificate)
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks
• Pennsylvania Department of Human Services Fingerprint Results (required before start)
• Physical exam within 1 year of start date
• Negative TB test (PPD, QuantiFERON Gold, or T-spot) within 1 year, or negative chest X-ray if previously positive
• Annual TB Questionnaire if applicable
• Immunizations or titers within 10 years for:

  • Measles (Rubeola)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Varicella
  • Hepatitis B (vaccine series, positive titer, or signed declination)
• Negative 15-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
• Seasonal flu vaccination or signed declination during flu season (Oct 1 – Apr 1)

Facility-Specific Requirements

• Completion of orientation checklist and various facility-specific training modules prior to start, including:

  • Code of Conduct
  • Confidentiality Agreement
  • Pandemic Attestation
  • Assessment of Patient Policy (must pass quiz with 100%)
  • Interdisciplinary Plans of Care (must pass quiz with 100%)
  • Skin Integrity Training (must pass quiz with 100%)
  • Mobility Training (must pass quiz with 100%)
  • Catheter Training (must pass quiz with 100%)
  • Cardiac Procedure Education Binder review (required for telemetry units)
  • Competency Assessment form to be brought to orientation and submitted to unit leader
• Photo for badge required

Competency Requirements

• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (minimum 80% or meet/exceed Angoff score)
• General Competency Exam (minimum 80% or meet/exceed Angoff score)

References

• 2 professional references required (travel, allied, or per diem acute care) within 3 years of start

Additional Notes

• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position.
• Workplace Violence Prevention training (CPI) will be completed onsite during orientation; no certificate required beforehand.
