Job Opportunity: Oncology Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Minneapolis, Minnesota
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Position Details

  • Specialty: Oncology Infusion
  • Shift: Day shift, 5 days a week, 8-hour shifts (8:00 AM – 4:30 PM)
  • Patient Ratio: 1 nurse to 6 patients
  • Floating: Required to float between multiple hospital locations within scope of practice
  • Block Scheduling: Accommodated
  • Locals: Not accepted within 100-mile radius
  • First-Time Travelers: Not accepted (prior travel experience required)
  • Weekend Requirement: None
  • On-Call: Not required
  • Guaranteed Hours: Subject to cancellation of up to 3 shifts without penalty
  • Return to Office Restrictions: Ideally no more than 5 days

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Minnesota
  • Minimum 2 years of Hematology/Oncology nursing experience, with at least some experience within the last year
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC)
  • Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) or Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation (ONCC) chemotherapy certification
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Background and Compliance Requirements

  • Criminal background check within 1 year, including Minnesota statewide search and sex offender registry
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 1 year
  • Minnesota DHS Net Study Fingerprint clearance required before start; candidates cannot start with fingerprints pending unless a “more time needed” letter is provided
  • Physical exam within 12 months prior to start
  • Immunizations and health screenings required:
    • Tdap (with exemptions requiring approval and restrictions on patient care)
    • Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 12 months
    • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (2 vaccines or positive titer)
    • Hepatitis B (proof of immunity, vaccination series, or signed declination)
    • Varicella (proof of immunity or vaccination series)
    • Seasonal flu vaccination documentation required for 2025-2026 season (declinations accepted)
  • OSHA Respiratory Safety clearance required prior to start
  • Drug testing: 9-panel within 1 year, not required for client clearance but must be set up

Orientation and Onboarding

  • Completion of pre-orientation online learning modules within 72 hours of receiving access (3-9 hours depending on specialty)
  • Passport-style photo required within 48 hours of contract signing for badge issuance
  • Badge request forms required for all clinicians before start
  • Skills checklist required annually

  • Candidates must be willing to float between multiple hospital locations as needed
  • Pending licenses are accepted
  • Prior travel experience is required; first-time travelers will not be considered
  • No weekend shifts required
  • Parking is available at a nominal hourly rate
