Registered Nurse – Cath Lab (Travel/Contract)
Location: Washington, District of Columbia
Shift: Day shift, 4x10 hour shifts (7:00 AM – 5:30 PM)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
- Position in Interventional Radiology/Cath Lab requiring moderate sedation administration and IV start experience.
- May float to Cath Lab holding area.
- On-call requirement: one weekend call every 4-6 weeks and weekday call once every other week.
- No holiday requests off permitted.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in District of Columbia
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Minimum 2 years of Cardiac Cath Lab experience, including experience within the last year
- Interventional Radiology experience
- Current ACLS certification
- Current BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Previous travel assignment experience (at least 1 previous travel assignment completed)
Orientation
- Orientation available on July 13 or July 27.
Health and Compliance Requirements
- Annual physical exam confirming ability to work without accommodations and free from communicable disease.
- Negative TB test (PPD, Quantiferon, or T-spot) within 1 year; if history of TB, additional documentation required.
- Required immunizations or titers: MMR (measles, mumps, rubella), Varicella, Hepatitis B, Tdap (within 10 years preferred).
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Sept–March).
- Drug screen within 90 days of start (excluding marijuana), covering multiple substances.
- N95 fit test within 9 months of start and updated annually (client may complete onsite if needed).
Background and Documentation
- Criminal background check within 90 days of start covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years.
- Education verification for highest degree required by position.
- Employment history covering 7 years with no gaps, including 2 years of verifiable experience in the specialty.
- Two positive supervisory references supporting at least 2 years of experience within the last 3 years.
- I9/E-Verify attestation required prior to start.
- Valid driver’s license required if driving is an essential job function.
Competency and Certification Exams
- Medication/pharmacology competency exam within 3 years, minimum 80% score.
- Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam required annually with minimum scores (including 100% on lethal rhythms section) for Cath Lab and related critical care units.
- Annual safety manual acknowledgement.
Additional Notes
- Facility requires completion of specific online modules prior to start.
- Candidate must be prepared for possible float assignments within procedural areas.
- Strict adherence to facility policies on vaccination and background checks.
This position is ideal for experienced Cath Lab or Interventional Radiology RNs with prior travel contract experience seeking a 13-week travel assignment in Washington, DC.
