Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Camden, New Jersey
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Night (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each; 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
Hours per Week: 36

Job Description

• Must submit Return to Office (RTO) documentation at time of submission; late submissions will not be accepted.
• Required to float within 5 hospitals within skillset as needed.
• Block scheduling is NOT allowed.
• Must pass a Dysrhythmia test within 72 hours of signing the contract (only 2 attempts allowed; test must be taken on a PC, not iOS devices). Failure to pass results in contract cancellation and denial of rehire.
• Expected patient ratio experience: 1:6; may be assigned to facilities with higher volumes.
• Circulate and scrub experience for C-section required.
• EPIC electronic health record experience required.
• First-time travelers accepted but not preferred.
• Schedule includes every other weekend (EOW), with 1 winter holiday and 1 summer holiday required.
• Scrubs provided by the hospital.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Jersey.
• Minimum 1 year of Labor and Delivery nursing experience within the last year.
• Certifications:

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross, valid beyond 30 days from contract start.
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross, valid beyond 30 days from contract start.
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program), valid beyond 30 days from contract start.
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
• Experience with EPIC electronic health record system.

Health and Safety Requirements

• Physical exam within last 12 months.
• Fit mask test must be completed at designated Occupational Health location within first week of assignment; outside fit tests not accepted. Cannot work first shift without fit test completion.
• Negative TB test (2-step PPD, QGold, or TSpot) within 1 year of start; for positive responders, chest x-ray and annual TB questionnaire required.
• Required immunizations or positive titers for:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B (titer or declination accepted)
  • Varicella
• Seasonal flu vaccination required by October 31 (or approved exemption).
• Drug screening: 10-panel drug screen without THC panel within 6 months of start; must be updated annually.
• Visual acuity exam (20/40 or better).
• Latex questionnaire required.

Additional Information

• Candidates must be prepared to complete facility-specific documents including badge photo and personal/auto insurance if applicable.
• Must comply with all pass/fail testing requirements related to dysrhythmia and medication competency.
• Prior travel experience is not required but preferred.
