Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position

Location: Camden, New Jersey
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Shift: Day (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each; 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Overview

• Must be willing to float within 5 hospitals within skillset.
• Block scheduling is not allowed.
• Required to pass a Dysrhythmia test within 72 hours of signing the contract (only 2 attempts allowed; must be taken on a PC, not iOS devices). Failure to pass results in contract cancellation and denial of rehire.
• Scrubs are provided by the hospital.
• Expected to maintain a 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio; may be assigned to higher volume facilities.
• One winter holiday and one summer holiday shift required.
• First-time travelers accepted but not preferred.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Jersey.
• Minimum 1 year of Labor and Delivery nursing experience within the last year.
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
• Certifications:

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP).
• Experience maintaining a 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio in Labor and Delivery.
• Experience with Epic electronic health record system.

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

• Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID).
• Proof of E-Verify or attestation.
• Background checks including:

  • 7-year criminal history check covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years.
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks.
• Education verification (diploma or transcript acceptable).
• NURSYS verification for RN license.
• Physical exam within the last 12 months.
• Fit mask test completed at designated Occupational Health within the first week of assignment (no outside fit tests accepted).
• Negative TB test (2-step PPD, QGold, or TSpot) within 1 year of start; if positive, chest X-ray and annual TB questionnaire required.
• Immunizations or positive titers for:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B (titer or declination accepted)
  • Varicella
• 10-panel drug screen without THC panel within 6 months of start (updated annually).
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption required by October 31 prior to flu season.
• Visual acuity exam (20/40 or better).
• Latex questionnaire.
• Two professional references within the last 2 years.
• Employment application and updated skills checklist (annually).
• Work history verification for at least 1 year prior to start date (New Jersey candidates).

Additional Notes

• Must complete orientation safety manual acknowledgement.
• Medication and pharmacology competency exams required as applicable.
• Color blind testing within 1 year of start.
• Dysrhythmia test required for this role and must be passed within 72 hours of contract signing.
• Candidates must be prepared to float among multiple hospital locations within the system.
• No local rate pay available.

This position requires strong clinical skills in Labor and Delivery nursing, flexibility to work across multiple hospital sites, and compliance with extensive credentialing and health requirements.
