Description
MRI Tech Travel/Contract Position
Location: Fayetteville, North Carolina
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology
- Shift: Night (Monday to Thursday, 8:30 PM – 7:00 AM)
- Hours: 4 shifts per week, 10 hours per shift (40 hours/week)
- Facility Type: Short-term acute care hospital
- Level III Trauma Center and Teaching Hospital
- Total Staffed Beds: 733
- Charting System: Epic
- Floating to sister facilities: No
- Locals accepted: No (must be outside 50-mile radius)
- Pending state license not accepted
- Guaranteed hours
- Maximum Return to Office (RTO) restrictions: No more than 6 days
Required Qualifications
- Valid MRI Technologist license in North Carolina
- Minimum 2 years of experience as an MRI Technologist
- MRI Technologist experience within the last year
Background and Health Requirements
- Background check required within 6 months of start, including:
- SSN Trace
- 7-year county residence history
- Nationwide search
- Sex offender search
- International search if lived/worked outside US in past 7 years
- Convictions within last year or active cases will disqualify
- Education verification related to specialty required (high school diplomas not accepted)
- Physical exam within 1 year, signed by physician, NP, or PA-C, updated annually
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year of start (annual TB screening required)
- Drug test: Negative 10-panel within 30 days (specific substances listed)
- Immunizations/vaccinations required:
- TDAP within last 10 years (no declinations accepted)
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: Titer or 2 vaccines required; boosters if negative or equivocal
- Varicella: Titer or 2 vaccines required; boosters if negative or equivocal
- Hepatitis B: Vaccine series, positive titer, or signed declination accepted
- Flu vaccine required during flu season (8/1/2025 – 3/31/2026) or approved medical/religious exemption (exemptions must be facility-approved, no Aya forms accepted)
- COVID-19 vaccination not required but accepted if available

- Facility orientation expected on Monday of first week, including meeting unit representative and schedule distribution
Additional Notes
- Candidates must renew any certifications or licenses expiring the month of start prior to beginning assignment
- Pass/fail competency exams have a maximum of 3 attempts with mandatory remediation after the first failure; failure after 3 attempts results in cancellation
- Religious and medical exemptions for COVID and flu vaccines require facility-specific forms and approval; delays may occur if documentation is incomplete or unclear
This position offers a structured night shift schedule with guaranteed hours in a high-acuity, teaching hospital environment requiring strong clinical competencies and compliance with extensive health and safety protocols.
