Description
Job Opportunity: X-Ray Tech (Travel/Contract)
Location: Hazleton, Pennsylvania
Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Shift: Evening (3:00 PM – 11:00 PM or 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM, shifts may vary)
Hours: 40 hours per week, 8 hours per day
Contract Length: Approximately 20 weeks
Job Details
- Work setting experience required in:
- Adult Acute Care
- Bedside/Portable Procedures
- Adult Outpatient
- No floating to other units
- No on-call duties
- Every 3rd weekend required
- Scrub colors allowed: Navy, Black, or Grey
- Local travelers accepted at a rate differential
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of Radiology Technician experience, including X-Ray Technician experience within the last year
- Experience in Acute Care and Outpatient settings
- ARRT (Radiologic Technologist) certification required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
Background and Credentialing Requirements
- Comprehensive background check covering all locations lived/worked in the past 7 years, including:
- SSN Trace
- County, State, Nationwide Criminal Search
- Sex Offender Search
- Education Verification
- PA PATCH (Pennsylvania State Police Search)
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required upon hire
- Pennsylvania Department of Human Services Fingerprint Clearance required within 90 days of start (full results, all pages)
- Pennsylvania Child Abuse Search required within 90 days of start
- Pennsylvania Medicheck Search required within 30 days of start (not required for 100% remote non-clinical candidates)
- Education verification for highest level relative to specialty
Certifications and Competencies
- Basic Life Support (BLS) – AHA or ARC accepted (military certification not accepted)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) – Required for certain units; verify applicability
- National Certification/Verification prior to facility start and upon expiration (as applicable)
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam – Must be completed within 12 months of start; minimum passing score 80%
- Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam – Required within 12 months of start; passing score 88% or higher; 3 attempts allowed within 6 months
- Pass/Fail Testing (EKG/Medication) – Required for all RNs & LVNs except certain specialties; passing score 88% or higher
- Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement – Annual update required
- State License Verification and NURSYS verification prior to start and upon expiration
Health and Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam within 2 months of start
- Fit test questionnaire and fit mask test required prior to start (not required for 100% remote non-clinical)
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within 10 years of start
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray (QGold or T-Spot within 90 days of start, or 2 PPDs with one within 90 days)
- Immunizations or positive titers required for:
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B (declinations not accepted)
- Varicella
- Seasonal Flu vaccination or approved exemption required for clinical staff; declination acceptable only for certain non-clinical locations with masking policy adherence
- COVID-19 vaccination required or signed declination with facility-specific form
- Drug testing: Negative 10-panel or 9-panel (without THC) within 60 days of start; dilute results require observed retest within 24 hours if allowed by state law
- Respiratory Safety Clearance required annually for respirator use starting 04/07/2025
Additional Requirements
- Minimum of 2 professional references from employment within 12 months of start
- Complete employment application including 7 years of work history with explanations for gaps over 90 days
- Work history verification required for non-clinical candidates
- Facility-specific documents such as photo for badge (for new candidates starting 3/31/2025 and later)
- Affidavit for provisional employment must be completed prior to start
- COVID and flu declination forms required if applicable
