Job Opportunity: Labor and Delivery Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Seattle, Washington
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Shift: Night (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Work in a high-risk, high-volume Labor & Delivery (L&D) unit with approximately 500-600 deliveries per month.
• Float required to Postpartum/Antepartum and possibly to sister facilities providing Mother/Baby care.
• Patient population includes midwifery clients, private OBs, adult recovery services (substance recovery), and community care clinics.
• Use of EPIC electronic health records and electronic fetal monitoring (EFM) is mandatory.
• Must function as Baby Nurse during delivery and provide newborn care until transfer to postpartum, including newborn assessments, eye care, and Vitamin K injections.
• Circulating nurse role in the OR is a hard requirement.
• Must be able to administer Heparin, Insulin, and Magnesium Sulfate.
• Schedule posted every 6 weeks; work every other weekend and holidays as needed.
• Average daily census: 15 patients; 31 rooms/beds.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Washington.
• Minimum of 3 years of Labor and Delivery nursing experience, with experience within the last year.
• Experience working with high-risk patients.
• Proficient in the use of EPIC electronic health records.
• Certifications required:

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by the American Heart Association or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
  • NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)
• Education: Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
