ICU Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Job - Alabama, Alexander City


Position Details

  • Job Title: ICU Registered Nurse
  • Location: Alexander City, Alabama
  • Employment Type: Travel/Contract
  • Shift: Night shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
  • Contract Length: 13 weeks
  • EMR System: Meditech Expanse
  • Locals Accepted: Yes, locals are accepted at the same rate (restriction waived)

Required Experience & Skills

  • Experience in:
    • Ventilator management
    • Drip management
    • Intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP)
    • Post cardiac catheterization care
  • Prior travel experience is preferred but not mandatory

Required Certifications & Licenses

  • Current Alabama State RN license or Compact RN license
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

  • Government-issued photo ID must be carried during hours of service
  • Proof of E-Verify or attestation
  • 7-year criminal background check covering all locations lived/worked in the past 7 years, updated annually
  • Education verification (diploma or transcripts)
  • NURSYS verification for RN license
  • Physical exam updated annually confirming ability to meet physical demands
  • Fit-tested N95 mask within 1 year of start (no onsite fit testing available)
  • Negative TB test (PPD, Quantiferon Gold, or T-spot) or chest X-ray within 1 year, updated annually
  • Immunizations or titers for:
    • Measles (Rubeola)
    • Mumps
    • Rubella
    • Hepatitis B (titer, vaccine series, or declination)
    • Varicella
  • 9-panel drug screen within the last 12 months (instant acceptable)
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or documented declination (mask required if declined)
  • COVID-19 vaccination fully completed by specified deadlines or approved medical/religious exemption on facility-specific form
  • Alabama Shirley’s Law APS Clearance Form completed and hand-signed prior to orientation

Requirements / Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Alabama
  • Minimum 1 year of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience within the last year
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • Experience with ventilator management
  • Experience with drip management
  • Experience with intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP)
  • Experience with post cardiac catheterization care

Additional Requirements

  • Proof of 2 clinical references or hospital evaluations
  • Completed employment application/resume
  • Skills checklist updated annually for applicable unit
  • Performance evaluations if previously worked with the agency over 1 year
  • Internal evaluations if previously worked with the agency over 2 years
