Job Opportunity: Labor and Delivery Nurse (Travel/Contract)
Location: Saint Marys, Ohio
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Shift: Night shift, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Start Date: ASAP
- Weekend Requirement: Every 3rd weekend
- Call: Not required
- Floating: Required as needed within scope
- Unit Births: Approximately 330 births annually
- EMR System: ALL Scripts
- Locals Allowed: No (must be outside 50-mile radius)
- First-time Travelers: Accepted
- Block Scheduling: Negotiable during interview
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Ohio
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Minimum 1 year of Labor and Delivery experience within the last year, including Labor Delivery Recovery & Postpartum (LDRP) experience
- Certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
- C-EFM (Certified Electronic Fetal Monitoring)
Background and Compliance Requirements
- Criminal background check within 6 months, including FCRA-compliant 7-year search (SSN Trace, Statewide, Nationwide Criminal, National Sex Offender, OFAC, FACIS Level 3)
- EPLS/GSA/SAM screening required
- HHS/OIG screening required
- BCI and FBI fingerprinting within 6 months, updated annually (can start with results pending)
- Fingerprint clearance attestation required within 6 months of start
- Ohio BCI/FBI fingerprint attestation must be completed and valid for one year
Health and Safety Requirements
- Pre-employment physical exam within 30 days of start (no annual update required)
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start (including THC)
- Fit test to be completed onsite during orientation
- Immunizations and documentation required:
- Tdap (within 10 years) or facility-specific declination
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 30 days of start (2-step PPD, T-Spot, or QGold)
- Annual TB questionnaire and symptoms assessment if history of positive TB
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella (2 MMR vaccines or positive titer; boosters required if negative/equivocal)
- Varicella (2 vaccines or positive titer; boosters required if negative/equivocal)
- Hepatitis B (titer, vaccine series proof, or signed declination)
- Seasonal flu vaccination required between October 1 and March 31 (declinations not accepted; exemptions allowed for medical or religious reasons with facility-specific form)
- COVID-19 vaccination: Fully vaccinated with 2 doses of Pfizer/Moderna or 1 dose of Johnson & Johnson, or approved exemption (medical or religious)
Facility-Specific Requirements
- Annual orientation safety manual acknowledgement
- Annual skills checklist
- Facility-specific confidentiality statement must be reviewed and signed
- Facility-specific flu and COVID exemption forms required if applicable
- Photo for badge: Headshot on white background, no hats or head coverings
Additional Notes
- Prior travel experience is not required
- Floating may be required within the scope of practice
- Candidates can start with fingerprinting and background check results pending, but must complete prior to start
- Block scheduling options can be discussed during the interview
