Job Opportunity: Emergency Room Registered Nurse (Night Shift)
Location: Belleville, Illinois
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Shift: Night, 3 shifts of 12 hours each (18:45 - 7:15)
- Hours per Week: 36 hours (3 shifts x 12 hours)
- Patient Ratio: 1 nurse to 3 patients
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Floating: May float within scope between Belleville, East location, and inpatient floors as needed
- Block Schedule: Not accommodated
- Local Radius Rule: Candidates must be outside a 75-mile radius (locals not accepted)
- On-Call: Not required
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week for 3 shifts of 12 hours
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois
- Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) experience, including experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Certifications:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) issued by the American Heart Association
- BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by the American Heart Association
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) issued by the American Heart Association
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification

Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Photo for Badge: Recent headshot (within 6 months), white background, no obstructions
- HIPAA Acknowledgement: Must be signed prior to start and updated annually
- Latex Allergy Questionnaire: Required annually
- Confidentiality Form: Required annually
- Regulatory Compliance Education: Annual quiz with minimum 80% score required
- TB Questionnaire: Annual completion required
- Hand Hygiene and Fingernail Policies: Must be reviewed and acknowledged prior to start
- Dress Code Policy: Must be reviewed and acknowledged prior to start
- Orientation Modules: Required for all RNs, completed through online platform; approximately 16 hours
- Social Security Number & Date of Birth Confirmation: Required
- Vehicle Registration: Not required for this facility
Additional Notes
- First-time travelers are accepted for this position
- Return-to-Office (RTO) restrictions: 7 days off within the 13-week contract
- RNs may be required to float within their scope to meet facility needs
- RQI cards are not acceptable for required certifications
- Candidates must comply with all state-specific background and exclusion list checks for Illinois
- Fingerprinting required for assignments that float to long-term care or rehab units in Illinois
