Registered Nurse – Med/Surg Telemetry

Location: Greeley, Colorado
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Nights, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
Hours per Week: 36


Job Overview

  • Acute care Med/Surg and Telemetry unit with 36 staffed beds
  • Patient population includes medical/surgical, renal, cardiac, diabetes, inpatient hospice, and overflow surgical patients
  • Nurse-to-patient ratios typically 1:5 to 1:6, may flex based on staffing and unit needs
  • Floating required within scope; may float to sister facilities with prior notification
  • Charting system: Epic
  • Scrub color: Navy
  • Weekend work required every other weekend or per unit needs
  • No on-call requirement

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Colorado
  • Minimum 2 years of Med Surg / Telemetry nursing experience, with experience within the last year
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

  • Valid Driver’s License/State ID (clear copies front and back)
  • E-Verify or attestation required
  • Legal name change documentation if applicable
  • Background checks within 60 days of start, including:
    • 7-year background check with SSN trace, Colorado CBI, education verification (accredited nursing school), FACIS III, sex offender search, OFAC sanctions list
    • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks
  • Education verification or transcript/diploma from accredited nursing program (CCNE or ACEN)
  • NURSYS license verification within 60 days of start
  • Physical exam within 1 year, signed by MD, DO, NP, or PA (not Chiropractor)
  • Fit mask test within 12 months, updated annually (specific 3M masks required)
  • Immunizations and titers required:
    • TDAP within 10 years or signed declination
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year, with annual updates if positive history
    • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) immunity via titer or vaccination
    • Hepatitis B immunity or vaccination series or declination
    • Varicella immunity or vaccination
  • Drug testing within 30 days of start, updated annually (specific drug panel required)
  • COVID vaccine documentation or signed declination
  • Color blindness testing via Ishihara exam (online testing not accepted)
  • Annual competency exams including medication/pharmacology, dysrhythmia/EKG, core parts I-III, OSHA mandatory training (minimum 80% score)
  • UCHealth Colorado CAPS release authorization annually with 5 years of address history
  • Employment history verification for last 3 years with explanations for gaps over 30 days
  • Two professional references from last 2 years, including one from the last year (charge RN, manager, or supervisor)

Additional Notes

  • Return to Office (RTO) days max: 10 days approved, with blackout periods during late June to early July, early September, and late October to early November 2026
  • Floating may include sister facilities; traveler will be notified in advance
  • Candidates residing within 75 miles of the facility may qualify for local rate (pay details excluded)

This position is ideal for nurses with solid acute care Med/Surg and Telemetry experience who are comfortable with night shifts, flexible staffing ratios, and floating between units and facilities. First-time travel nurses with the required acute care background are welcome to apply.
