Job Opportunity: CVICU Registered Nurse

Location: Quincy, Illinois
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Specialty: Registered Nurse (CVICU experience acceptable; CVU experience also considered)
• Shift: Day shift, 4 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
• Total Hours per Week: 48

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois
• Minimum 2 years of CVICU experience, with CVICU experience within the last year
• CVU (Cardiovascular Unit) experience also considered
• ACLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• BLS certification issued by American Heart Association
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Preferred Certifications (Not Required)

• Chemotherapy certification (strongly preferred for Oncology)

Health and Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam within 30 days of start, confirming good health and ability to work without restrictions
• N95 Fit Test within 12 months of start (specific approved mask models required)
• Tdap vaccination within 10 years or signed declination
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year (2-step PPD or equivalent testing accepted)
• Proof of immunity or vaccination for:

  • Measles (Rubeola)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B (titer, vaccine series, or declination)
  • Varicella (titer, vaccine series, or declination)
• Seasonal flu vaccination or declination required during flu season (Oct 1 – Mar 31)
• COVID-19 vaccination proof required prior to start
• Drug screening: 10-panel test within 30 days of start, no rapid results accepted

Background and Documentation Requirements

• Government-issued photo ID (2 forms of ID required)
• Emergency contact form prior to start
• 7-year criminal background check within 30 days of start, including:

  • SSN trace
  • County searches for last 7 years
  • National criminal and sex offender checks
  • Alias checks
  • Education verification (diploma or transcript acceptable)
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks (must be done annually)
• Education verification (diploma or transcript acceptable)
• Employment application and work history verification for last 3 years
• At least 2 professional references within 3 years
• Skills checklist (annual)

Facility-Specific Requirements

• Photo for badge (headshot, shoulders up, JPEG format)
• Completion of computer-based learning modules prior to start (approximately 4 hours)
• Completion of employee health information, non-discrimination/equal opportunity, safety information, code of conduct, confidentiality agreements, compliance relationships, mandated reporter status, enrollment, background check authorization, and system access request forms prior to start
• Parking tag request required
