ICU Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)
Location: New Haven, Connecticut
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Shift: Night (4x12 hours, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Overview
- Float between 2 campuses within the same health system, covering 5 ICU specialties and step-down units including a pulmonary stepdown unit (patient ratio 1:3).
- Floating within scope of practice to meet facility needs is required.
- Weekend work required every other weekend.
- Guaranteed hours.
- Shuttle service available between campuses; parking available at a cost.
- Charting system: Epic.
- Facility type: Short Term Acute Care, Level I Trauma Center with 1,567 staffed beds.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Connecticut required prior to start. Pending licenses accepted but must be active by start date.
- Minimum 1 year of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) nursing experience within the last year required.
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required.
- Certifications:
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
- Experience and competencies aligned with ICU nursing practice.
