Position Details

• Job Title: Pediatric OR Registered Nurse

• Shift: Day shift, 3 shifts of 12 hours each (7:00 AM - 7:00 PM)
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Hours per Week: 36 hours
• Weekend Coverage: Occasional weekend coverage required

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Ohio
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• Minimum of 1 year of pediatric experience, including experience within the last year
• Experience working with pediatric patients
• Pediatric Operating Room (OR) experience
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement

Required Compliance and Documentation

• Valid government-issued photo ID must be carried on assignment
• 7-year criminal background check including SSN trace, counties lived/worked, statewide, national criminal, nationwide sex offender, FACIS Level 3, OFAC, education verification, and international checks if applicable
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks, updated annually and after any break in service over 30 days
• Ohio BCI and FBI fingerprint results required within 1 month of start; must be updated annually
• Education verification or diploma/transcript required
• Physical exam within 12 months of start, updated annually
• Immunizations and titers required:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
  • Negative TB test (IGRA within 30 days or PPD within 1 year) or chest X-ray if TB positive
  • Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella: positive titer or 2 vaccinations
  • Hepatitis B: titer, vaccine series proof, or signed declination
  • Varicella: positive titer or 2 vaccinations
• Standard 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start; new screen required after breaks in service over 30 days
• Flu vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Nov 15 - May 31); medical exemptions require additional facility-specific form signed by a licensed provider
• Annual completion of TB questionnaire in lieu of annual TB test
• Unit-specific skills checklist and competency exams required, updated annually
• Medication test/pharmacology competency exam required for RNs
• Orientation safety manual acknowledgement required annually
• Two positive professional references required, including at least one from the most recent employer
• Employment application must include 3 years prior work history with at least 2 years clinical practice in an acute care setting similar to the assignment

• This is a Magnet facility, emphasizing high standards of nursing practice
• Candidates must sign facility-specific documents including computer security agreement, HIPAA/confidentiality statement, HIPAA privacy training, and staff badge form
• Float policy must be completed for NICU, PICU, Pediatric, Pediatric float, Pediatric Stepdown, TCU, ICU & BICU areas (if applicable)
