Description
MRI Tech Travel/Contract Position
Location: Dayton, Ohio
Shift: Night, 3 shifts per week (Friday - Sunday), 6:30 PM - 7:00 AM (3x12 hour shifts)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
Seeking an MRI Technologist to perform diagnostic radiographic procedures independently, utilizing proper techniques and administration of contrast media. The role involves coordinating patient flow within the Radiology Department, maintaining equipment, and potentially performing procedures in other imaging modalities as needed. On-call responsibilities may be required.
Required Qualifications
- MRI Technologist with a minimum of 2 years of experience
- MRI Technologist experience within the last year
- Associate degree in Allied Health with Radiologic Technology as the area of study or major
- ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Experience with GE Healthcare MRI equipment
Key Skills and Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic radiographic procedures independently
- Administer contrast media within scope of practice and licensure
- Operate imaging equipment and perform venipuncture as needed
- Coordinate patient flow and departmental activities
- Exercise professional judgment to maintain equipment functionality
- May assist in other imaging modalities based on departmental needs
Health and Safety Requirements
- Fit testing for N95 respirator required before working on the HRRU unit unless PAPR is provided/needed
- Must comply with medical clearance and respirator protection medical questionnaire prior to orientation
- Required immunizations and health screenings include:
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray (annual updates if past positive)
- Proof of immunity or vaccination for Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella
- Hepatitis B vaccination series, immune titer, or declination
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption (no declinations accepted)
- Drug screening: Negative 9 or 10 panel drug screen including marijuana panel within 12 months prior to documentation due date
- Physical exam within 2 years prior to start, indicating fitness for work and freedom from communicable diseases
Documentation and Compliance
- Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID) required
- E-Verify compliance required prior to start
- Background checks including 7-year criminal history, EPLS/GSA/SAM, and HHS/OIG required
- Education verification with primary source verification required
- Skills checklist updated within 1 year prior to documentation due date
- Two professional references within 2 years required (one must be a manager/supervisor/charge nurse) or employment verification if references unavailable
- Current resume/application required
Additional Notes
- The employer reserves the right to cancel up to 2 shifts per 13-week contract due to low census
- The agreement may be canceled with 2 weeks’ notice without penalty
- Travelers are not eligible for employee incentives
- Orientation and return-to-office (RTO) requests must be submitted with initial application; no additions after offer
