Description
Cath Lab Tech Travel/Contract Position
Location: Saint Louis, Missouri
Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Schedule: 4 shifts per week, 10 hours each (7:00 AM – 5:30 PM)
- Call Requirements: 1-2 weekends and 5-6 weeknights on call per 6-week period, including holidays
- Procedural-based scheduling with high acuity patients
- Floating: Clinician may float within service line and scope; no floating to sister facilities
- Local candidates not accepted (must be outside 75-mile radius)
- Guaranteed minimum of 3 shifts per 13-week contract
Required Experience & Skills
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Cath Lab Radiology Technologist
- Experience as a Cath Lab Radiology Technologist within the last year
- Experience as a Cath Lab Technologist
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
Required Certifications & Licenses
- Government-issued ID required
- Professional license verification required (specific to Cath Lab Tech discipline)
Compliance & Background Checks
- Criminal background check within 6 months required (7-year search including statewide, nationwide, sex offender, and international if applicable)
- Quarterly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required
- Education verification of highest related education required before start
- State-specific searches and checks required for Missouri and Illinois placements
- Fingerprinting required for assignments at or floating to long-term care or rehab units in Illinois
- Drug testing within 1 year of start, covering a comprehensive panel, must be current throughout assignment
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start required
- Fit mask testing (N95) required and must be renewed annually
- Tdap vaccine or declination required (expires every 10 years)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year of start required
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella immunity or vaccination required (with specific unit exemptions noted)
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption required during flu season (Sept 30 – Apr 1)
- Hepatitis B declination required (vaccination not mandatory)
Facility Policies & Documentation
- Badge photo required (head and shoulders, white background, no obstructions, taken within 6 months)
- HIPAA Acknowledgement, Latex Allergy Questionnaire, Confidentiality Form, Hand Hygiene Policy, Fingernail Policy, Dress Code Policy must be reviewed and signed prior to start
- Regulatory Compliance Education quiz must be completed annually with a passing score of 80% or higher
- Orientation modules required for RNs and LVNs (not required for allied health professionals)
- Vehicle registration required for candidates working at the facility
Additional Requirements
- Two professional references required (supervisors preferred, with specific guidelines for RNFAs)
- Unit-specific skills checklist required within 1 year of start
- Competency exams (medication/pharmacology, unit-specific, dysrhythmia/EKG) required and must be passed as applicable
- Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) or Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) certification required if applicable
Notes
- Candidate must be flexible and able to meet call and procedural demands
- Must adhere to facility dress code (navy blue scrubs or hospital-provided scrubs)
- Charting system used: EPIC
This position is ideal for experienced Cath Lab Techs comfortable with high acuity cardiac procedures and flexible scheduling, including call responsibilities. First-time travel candidates with the required experience are welcome.
