Job Opportunity: MRI Tech (Travel/Contract)

Location: Richmond, Virginia
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Position Details

• Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology
• Shift: Day shift, Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM (8 hours/day, 40 hours/week)
• Worksite: North Ground MRI
• Locals allowed at same rate
• Required systems experience: McKesson, EPIC
• Level 1 required

Required Qualifications

• MRI Technologist with at least 1 year of experience
• MRI Technologist experience within the last year
• Experience with Epic system
• Valid permanent Virginia state license for MRI Technologists (ARRT required; AMRIT not accepted)
• Government-issued photo ID must be carried during hours of service
• Certifications:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) – AHA only
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) – AHA only
  • Other certifications as per unit job description may apply
• Background checks within 60 days of start, including:

  • Criminal background check covering all states lived/worked in past 7 years
  • Statewide and nationwide repositories
  • Sex offender registry
  • Education verification (proof of diploma accepted)
• Drug testing within 60 days of start (9-panel minimum, instant screens not accepted)
• Physical exam within 1 year attesting ability to meet physical demands
• Immunizations and titers required:

  • Tdap vaccine or declination
  • Negative TB test (Q-gold/T-spot within 30 days or two PPDs including one within 30 days)
  • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella titers with booster if low titer
  • Hepatitis B titer, vaccine series, or declination
  • Seasonal flu vaccine or approved exemption (no declinations accepted)
• Competency exams and safety acknowledgements as applicable
• Two professional references required
• Complete application/resume required

Additional Requirements & Information

• Orientation includes pharmacology exam, point of care testing, and mask fitting (not pass/fail)
• Assigned learning modules during orientation to be completed within the orientation week (~6 hours)
• Candidates must bring mask (cloth acceptable), non-wireless headphones, and a laptop or cell phone (notify if unavailable)
• Fingerprinting and CPS (Central Registry) background checks required for certain units; results may pend but proof of submission must be on file
• Fingerprinting process involves notarized forms and mailing fingerprint cards; results take approximately 14-28 days
• Candidates may start with pending background results if proof of submission is documented
• Nursys verification required for all RNs (not applicable for MRI Tech)
• No temporary RN licenses accepted (not applicable for MRI Tech)
• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position
