Job Opportunity: CVOR Registered Nurse
Location: Baltimore, Maryland
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Work Schedule: Four 10-hour day shifts per week (6:00 AM – 4:30 PM)
- On-Call Requirements (6-week rotation):
- 2 Friday night shifts (4:30 PM – 7:00 AM)
- 2 Saturday and 2 Sunday 24-hour on-call shifts
- 4 weekday on-call shifts (4:30 PM – 7:00 AM)
- Must be able to scrub during procedures
- Specialty: Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) nursing
- Experience with open-heart surgery required
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Maryland
- Minimum 2 years of Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) nursing experience, including experience within the last year
- Completion of at least one prior travel nursing assignment
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC)
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Required Documentation & Compliance
- Valid driver’s license if driving is an essential job function
- Criminal background check within 90 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years
- I9/E-Verify attestation required prior to start
- Drug screen within 90 days of start (excluding marijuana)
- Annual physical exam confirming ability to perform job duties without accommodations and free from communicable disease
- Immunization and health requirements including:
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
- Tdap vaccine within 10 years preferred
- Documentation of MMR (measles, mumps, rubella) and Varicella immunity or vaccination
- Hepatitis B titer, series, or signed declination
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption during flu season (Sept–March)
- Completion of facility-specific orientation modules prior to start
- Annual competency exams including:
- Medication/Pharmacology test (minimum 80% score)
- Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam with specific scoring requirements (updated annually)
References & Work History
- Two positive supervisory references supporting at least 2 years of experience within the last 3 years
- Complete 7 years of work history with no gaps, including education, employment, license, and contact information
- Verification of minimum 2 years of employment in the past 7 years, preferably the most recent 2 years
Additional Notes
- Candidates living within 60 miles may be considered local
- Facility requires photo for badge with specific guidelines (clear, centered, no glare, solid background)
- Annual safety manual acknowledgment required
- N95 fit test within 9 months of start and updated annually (client may complete onsite if needed)
This position is ideal for experienced CVOR RNs with prior travel nursing experience seeking a 13-week travel contract in Maryland with a structured day shift and on-call rotation.
