Job Opportunity: Echo Tech / Cardiac Sonographer

Location: Greensboro, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Details

  • Schedule: Day shift, 5 days a week (5x8 hours), typically 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM (occasional 8:30 AM start)
  • Rotating weekends: 1 weekend every 4 weeks
  • Must be willing to float to other facilities if needed
  • Strict zero-tolerance policy for tardiness and unexcused absences
  • Cannot accommodate 4x10 shifts

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Cardiac Sonographer license in North Carolina
  • Cardiac Sonographer with at least 1 year of experience, including experience within the last year
  • BLS certification
  • ARDMS or AE certification
  • Proficiency in 3D strain image enhancement
  • Experience with Stress Echo

Experience

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in specialty (Radiology / Cardiology)

Licensure & Certifications

  • Must hold a valid state license appropriate for Echo Tech / Cardiac Sonographer
  • Required certifications include:
    • BLS (Basic Life Support)
    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) may be required depending on unit
  • National technical certification required: ARDMS or CCI (RDCS or RCS)
  • Education verification and High School Diploma/GED verification required

Compliance & Background Requirements

  • Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
  • Social Security Card for badge issuance
  • Background check within 60 days covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years, including:
    • Social Security Trace with all aliases
    • National Criminal Search
    • Federal Court and National Sex Offender checks
    • Education verification (primary source)
    • International education equivalency evaluation if applicable
  • Negative 10-panel drug screen within 40 days of start
  • Immunizations and health documents required:
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine proof
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray (Qgold/TSPOT within 6 months)
    • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
    • Hepatitis B titer or declination
    • Varicella vaccination or positive titer
    • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption (for flu season)
  • Fit mask test (N95) completed within current calendar year and updated annually (exceptions apply)

Onboarding & Facility Requirements

  • Completion of mandatory questionnaires prior to offer
  • Facility-specific photo for badge (strict requirements: no selfies, solid color background, business casual or uniform attire, forward-facing)
  • Completion of Health History Form including any physician-mandated work restrictions
  • Review and sign floating policy and contractor equipment acknowledgment form
  • Completion of EPIC test (online) with passing score required for clearance (2 attempts allowed, 3rd attempt requires manager approval)
  • Workday login and onboarding tasks must be completed before arrival
  • Two supervisory references required from clinical assignments within the last 24 months (one within 12 months)
  • Employment application/resume with 7-year work history
  • Verification of all employment within last 5 years through third-party vendor
  • Annual skills checklist with a one-week grace period for renewal

Additional Notes

  • Fingerprinting required only for Home Health and Long-Term Care positions (not applicable here)
  • Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position
  • Candidate must be flexible with scheduling and able to meet strict attendance policies
