Registered Nurse – Operating Room (Travel/Contract)

Location: Bend, Oregon
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Details

  • Shift: Night shift, 4 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
  • Hours per Week: 48 hours
  • On-Call Requirements:
    • Call coverage: 2 weeknights every 6 weeks
    • One weekend (Saturday and Sunday) 12-hour shifts (days or nights) every 6 weeks
  • Floating: Floating within scope of practice to meet facility needs
  • Local Candidates: Not accepted (75-mile radius rule)
  • Pending License: Accepted on a case-by-case basis
  • Return to Office Restrictions: Maximum 7 total days in the 13-week assignment

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Oregon
  • Minimum 3 years of Operating Room (OR) experience, including OR experience within the last year
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • Experience with Epic electronic health record system
  • Experience with Craniotomy procedures
  • Experience with Ortho Trauma procedures

Background and Compliance Requirements

  • 7-year criminal background check within 90 days of start, updated annually, including:
    • SSN trace
    • Counties lived/worked/school
    • FACIS L3
    • DOJ Sex Offender Search
    • Nationwide check
    • Education verification (highest level)
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 90 days of start
  • Diploma or transcript required and must be on file
  • NURSYS verification required for RN license

Health and Safety Requirements

  • Physical exam within 1 year of start
  • Immunizations and titers:
    • TDAP vaccine within 10 years (or declination accepted)
    • Negative QGold TB test within 1 year; if positive, negative chest X-ray within 5 years and annual TB questionnaire required
    • Annual TB questionnaire required for all candidates
    • Measles, Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines; booster or declination accepted for low/equivocal titers
    • Hepatitis B: Positive titer required (vaccine series alone not acceptable); booster or declination accepted for low/equivocal titers
    • Varicella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines; booster or declination accepted for low/equivocal titers
  • Negative 12-panel drug screen within 90 days of start (not required annually)
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or agency declination/exemption required during flu season (deadline December 1)
  • COVID vaccine preferred but not required; vaccination record or declination/exemption required
  • Respiratory safety clearance required annually and within 1 year of start

  • Time-sensitive documents must be submitted within 48 hours of signing and no later than 2 Wednesdays prior to start, including:
    • Passport-style photo for badge
    • Confidentiality agreement
    • Contractual and third-party access agreement
    • Compliance and privacy program attestation
    • Emergency contact form
  • Annual skills checklist required

  • First-time travelers with 3 years of experience are eligible
