Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical (Travel/Contract)

Location: New London, Connecticut
Shift: Nights, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (6:45 PM - 7:15 AM)
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Details

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Connecticut
  • Minimum 2 years of Medical Surgical nursing experience, with experience within the last year
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Additional Information

  • Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position.
  • Floating to other units as needed is expected.
  • Candidate must be able to work every other weekend.

Summary

This is a 13-week travel contract for a Registered Nurse with at least 2 years of Medical Surgical experience, working night shifts in a short-term acute care Level III trauma center. The role requires multiple certifications, background checks, health screenings, and completion of various training modules and attestations. The nurse will float as needed and work every other weekend. The facility uses Epic for charting and offers free parking.
