Cath Lab Tech - Travel/Contract Position

Location: Toms River, New Jersey
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day, 4x10 hour shifts (7:00 AM - 5:30 PM)
Hours per Week: 40

Job Overview

• Perform 10-15 cases per day in cardiac catheterization lab.
• Call schedule: every 5th weekend, once or twice a week.
• Clinical focus includes CAD, PAD, STEMI, NSTEMI, cardiac arrhythmias, and neuro (stroke) cases.
• First-time travelers and local candidates are welcome.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Cath Lab Technologist license in New Jersey.
• Minimum 1 year of Cath Lab Technologist experience within the last year.
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification.

Required Documentation & Compliance

• Government-issued photo ID and driver's license (must be provided within 48 hours of signing).
• Employment eligibility verification (E-Verify).
• Criminal background check within 30 days of start, including alias and multi-level searches. No open cases allowed.
• Drug screen (10-panel urine test) within 30 days of start.
• Physical exam within 12 months, confirming ability to perform essential job functions and free of communicable disease.
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray per facility protocol.
• Influenza vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required annually.
• Respiratory medical clearance and on-site fit testing mandatory prior to start; must be updated annually.
• Color vision testing if job tasks require color discrimination.
• Completion of required competency exams (medication/pharmacology, dysrhythmia/EKG, IV therapy/infusion) within 72 hours of signing.
• Skills checklist updated annually.
• Employment application or resume with 7 years of work history.
• Work history verification for at least 1 year prior to start (New Jersey state requirement).
• Two professional references within the last 2 years, including at least one managerial reference.

Additional Certifications & Training (As Applicable)

• Annual education sign-off and facility-specific orientation requirements.
• Stroke and trauma CEUs if applicable to unit assignment.
• Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) certification required for ER, Pediatric ER, and Behavioral Health RNs (not applicable for Cath Lab Tech).
• National certification verification for allied professionals as applicable.

Work Environment & Expectations

• Must be able to work 4 consecutive 10-hour day shifts.
• On-call every 5th weekend.
• Ability to handle high-volume case load with complex cardiac and neuro cases.
• Compliance with all facility-specific policies including floating policy and annual education requirements.

Notes

• Prior travel experience is not required for this position.
• Candidates must ensure all legal names on licenses and documents match and provide proof of any name changes.
• Candidates with positive TB history must complete additional medical clearance steps.
• All certifications expiring within a month of start require renewal confirmation.
• Facility requires timely submission of all required documents to avoid delays in start date.
