Registered Nurse - Cath Lab (Travel/Contract)

Location: Spartanburg, South Carolina
Shift: Day, 4x10-hour shifts (7:00 AM - 4:30 PM)
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Work in the Cath Lab with a schedule of four 10-hour day shifts per week.
  • On-call requirements include late stay if needed.
  • Start date: July 6.
  • First-time travelers accepted.
  • Local candidates outside a 75-mile radius are accepted.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in South Carolina.
  • Minimum 2 years of Cardiac Cath Lab experience.
  • Cardiac Cath Lab experience within the last year.
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification.

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

  • Government-issued photo ID (driver’s license or state ID) must be carried during hours of service.
  • Social Security Card (if used for I9 verification).
  • Proof of E-Verify or attestation.
  • Background check: 7-year criminal history check within 1 year of start, updated annually, covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years.
  • Education verification: Highest level of education must be verified (Associates degree or higher for RNs).
  • Transcript or diploma from highest level of education required.
  • Primary source verification of state nursing license.
  • NURSYS verification required for all RNs.
  • Facility-specific documents including photo for badge and acknowledgment of orientation safety manual.
  • Acknowledgement of pass/fail testing (arrhythmia, drug calculations) required for RNs.
  • Pass/fail testing on EKG/medication administered on first day of orientation; two attempts allowed.
  • Medication test/pharmacology competency exam required within 1 year of start and updated annually.
  • Physical exam within 1 year of start, updated annually, attesting ability to meet physical demands.
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 3 months of start, updated annually.
  • Immunizations/vaccinations or approved exemptions required for:
    • Rubeola (Measles)
    • Mumps
    • Rubella
    • Varicella
    • Hepatitis B (3-dose series, 2-dose Heplisav, positive titer, or signed declination)
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or declination required during flu season (Nov 1 - Mar 31).
  • COVID-19 vaccination: Dose 1 and 2 required or declination form.
  • Drug screening within 90 days of start (10-panel plus Oxycodone and Marijuana).
  • Respiratory safety clearance required within 1 year of start if respirator use is needed.
  • References: Two references within 3 years of start required (Qualivis requirement).
  • Employment application required.
  • South Carolina SLED criminal records search required for all candidates regardless of residency.

Attendance Policy

  • More than two missed shifts without reasonable explanation during the 13-week contract may result in contract review and possible cancellation.

Additional Notes

  • Candidates must submit all Return to Office (RTO) requests during the submittal process.
  • Orientation includes passing required exams and may allow testing out of Epic system.
  • On-call policy form required for new and extending RNs in certain units (MS/Tele, LTAC MS/Tele, ICU, ER).
  • Facility-specific forms and compliance checklists must be completed as part of onboarding.
