Registered Nurse - ICU (Travel/Contract)

Location: Lubbock, Texas
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Night (4 shifts of 12 hours, 18:45 - 7:15)
Hours per Week: 48

Job Overview

• Position floats between ICU, Telemetry, and Medical-Surgical units.
• Expected to work 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week schedule.
• No on-call or block schedules required.
• Nurse-to-patient ratios range from 1:2 to 1:3.
• 48-hour shifts are approved.
• Requires experience in cardiac, neuro, trauma, and general surgery.
• Seasoned traveler required.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Texas
• Minimum 3 years of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) nursing experience, including ICU experience within the last year
• Minimum 3 years of travel nursing experience
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Experience in cardiac, neuro, trauma, and general surgery nursing

Health & Safety Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO.
• Fit mask test (annual, travel only).
• Immunizations and screenings:

  • TDAP within 10 years or declination accepted
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, updated annually
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer, with boosters or declination if low/equivocal titer
  • Hepatitis B vaccination series or signed declination
  • Varicella vaccination or positive titer, with boosters or declination if low/equivocal titer
  • Seasonal flu vaccine during flu season or declination
  • COVID vaccination record preferred; declinations accepted with adherence to masking policies
• 9 Panel Drug Screen within 12 months of start (instant acceptable).

Background & Verification

• Background check within 90 days covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years; must be updated annually.
• Education verification required for nursing degree; international education requires diploma/transcript or CES report.
• Minimum of 2 professional references covering 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty within the last 3 years.
• Employment application covering at least last 5 years of employment with month/year format.
• Work history verification required if exceptions to references are requested.

Uniform & Dress Code

• Licensed nursing personnel wear solid navy blue uniforms or scrubs (scrub tops may have colored piping).
• Print tops are not acceptable except in specific pediatric or women's services units.

Additional Notes

• Free parking available in unrestricted employee/visitor lots.
• Float policy acknowledgment required; may be asked to float to other nearby facilities.
• Passport-style badge photo with neutral background required prior to start.
• Annual regulatory and specialty-specific training modules required via LMS.
• Respiratory safety clearance required annually for travel nurses.

This position is ideal for experienced ICU RNs who are comfortable floating between critical care, telemetry, and med-surg units, and who have prior travel nursing experience.
