Description

Occupational Therapist (OT) - LTAC / Acute Care

Location: Spartanburg, South Carolina
Employment Type: Travel / Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Days (Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM) with Saturday rotation as needed
Hours: 40 hours per week (8 hours per day)


Job Description

  • Provide occupational therapy services in a Long-Term Acute Care (LTAC) and acute care setting.
  • Must be comfortable working in an LTAC facility environment.
  • No on-call responsibilities.
  • Local candidates within 75 miles are not accepted.
  • Start date: ASAP.
  • Attendance policy: Missing more than two shifts without reasonable explanation during the 13-week contract may lead to contract review and possible cancellation.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Occupational Therapist license in South Carolina
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required (AHA or RQI acceptable)

Experience

  • Specialty: Therapy / Rehabilitation (Occupational Therapy).
  • Years of experience: Not explicitly stated; follow standard OT travel contract expectations.
  • Prior travel experience: Not required.

Certifications & Competencies

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) - required for all candidates.
  • ACLS, PALS, NRP, TNCC, EFM, NIH Stroke Certification, and other certifications are not specifically required for this OT role.

  • Government-issued photo ID (driver’s license or state ID) must be carried during hours of service.
  • Employment application required.
  • Two references within 1 year of start required (per Qualivis standards).
  • South Carolina SLED criminal records search required for all candidates regardless of residency history.

Health & Immunization Requirements

  • Physical exam within 1 year of start, updated annually, attesting ability to meet physical demands of the position.
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 3 months of start (facility-specific form required).
  • Immunizations or proof of immunity required for:
    • Rubeola (Measles)
    • Mumps
    • Rubella
    • Varicella
    • Hepatitis B (3-dose series, 2-dose Heplisav, positive titer, or signed declination)
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or declination required during flu season (Nov 1 - Mar 31). Mask wearing required if declining vaccine.
  • COVID-19 vaccination: Dose 1 and 2 required or declination form if not fully vaccinated.
  • Drug testing within 90 days of start (10 panel plus Oxycodone and Marijuana).

Facility Specific Requirements

  • Photo for badge (headshot on plain background) required.
  • Facility-specific orientation and documentation will be provided prior to start.
  • Must comply with facility attendance and on-call policies (no on-call for this role).
  • Respiratory safety clearance required within 1 year of start if respirator use is necessary (not typical for OT).
