Job Opportunity: Interventional Radiology Tech (Travel/Contract)

Location: Tampa, Florida
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Position Details

• Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology (Interventional Radiology)
• Shift: Day shift, 4 days per week, 10-hour shifts (7:30 AM - 6:00 PM)
• Caseload: 20-30 cases per day
• Facility Type: Short Term Acute Care
• Trauma Level: Level II Adult Trauma, Level I Pediatric Trauma
• Beds: 615 staffed beds
• Work Schedule: Weekend work required; On-call required 8-10 days/month with one Saturday per month
• On-call Response Time: 30 minutes to arrive at facility; on-call sleep rooms available
• Floating: Floating within scope to meet facility needs is required; no floating to sister facilities
• Dress Code: Scrubs in black or navy
• Charting System: Cerner EMR preferred
• Parking: Included

Required Qualifications

• Valid Interventional Radiology Technologist license in Florida
• Minimum 1 year of recent Interventional Radiology Technologist experience
• Vascular Technologist experience
• ARRT certification
• BLS certification (AHA or RQI accepted)

Additional Requirements

• Background Checks: Standard background checks including SS trace, county searches, nationwide, sex offender, education verification, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG
• Fingerprinting: Florida AHCA Level II fingerprint clearance required prior to start; Livescan electronic fingerprinting accepted nationwide
• Education Verification: Required, including foreign equivalency evaluation if education was completed outside the US or Puerto Rico
• Physical Exam: Required within 6 months of start
• TB Testing: Negative PPD, Qgold, or Tspot within 10 weeks of start; chest X-ray and TB questionnaire if prior positive PPD
• Drug Testing: Standard 9-panel drug screen within 30 days of start (instant tests not accepted)
• Immunizations:

  • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: Titer or 2 vaccines, booster if low/equivocal titers
  • Hepatitis B: Titer, series, or declination
  • Varicella: Titer or 2 vaccines, booster if low/equivocal titers
  • Seasonal Flu Vaccination or documented declination required for 2025-26 season
• Respirator Clearance: Required annually if respirator use is needed

Competency & Certification Exams

• Medication/Pharmacology competency exam (score ≥80%) as applicable
• Color Blindness test (Relias) prior to start
• Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam required for certain units (not applicable here)
• Stroke education CEUs and NIH Stroke Certification recommended for related units (not specifically required here)

Documentation & Compliance

• Professional photo for badge required prior to start (clear, professional, solid background)
• Completion of facility-specific online training modules prior to start (approx. 4-8 hours)
• References: 2 professional references from past 2 years required
• Employment application and skills checklist must be submitted and available for facility review
• Facility-specific policies including dress code, tobacco policy, privacy policy, and hurricane exemption survey must be acknowledged
