Job Opportunity: Respiratory Therapist (RRT)

Location

Portland, Maine

Employment Type

Travel contract
Contract length: 26 weeks

Schedule

Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
Weekly guaranteed hours: 36
Weekend hours: 36 to 48 hours (unless otherwise noted)
Call requirement: Yes, 2 hours for the oncoming shift

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist license in Maine
Minimum 3 years of Respiratory Therapist experience, including experience within the last year
BLS certification
NRP certification

Unit and Patient Information

Patient types: varied, including acute and critical care patients
Patient ratios: acute care 1:25, critical care 1:8
Equipment used: Drager V500 and VN500 ventilators, Hamilton T1 and C1, Respironics V30, V60, Trilogy line, Airvo, Vapotherm
EMR system: EPIC

Preferred Experience

NICU/PICU and cardiothoracic experience

Work Environment and Culture

Team size: 14-16 RRTs covering the entire facility
Personality fit: flexible, team player, strong communication skills
Dress code: scrubs provided or flexible

Additional Information

High vacancy rate (36%) and operational deficit (15%) in the department
Float requirements include multiple acute care areas across pediatrics and adults
