Registered Nurse – Stepdown Cardiac (Travel/Contract)

Location: Pinehurst, North Carolina
Shift: Night (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each; 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Float between multiple stepdown/intermediate care units based on greatest need
• Must have skills and experience in stepdown/intermediate level nursing
• Immediate start preferred
• Must not reside in Moore County, NC
• Facility cannot accommodate return-to-office (RTO) on major holiday weeks

• Charting system: EPIC

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in North Carolina
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Minimum of 1 year of Cardiac Stepdown experience, with experience within the last year
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross

Preferred Certifications (Not Required)

• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
• Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC)
• Chemotherapy certification (for Oncology RNs)

Health and Safety Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year (to meet agency standards; not required by facility)
• Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccination within 10 years
• Negative TB test (PPD within 3 months or Qgold/TSPOT within 1 year) updated annually; if positive history, clear chest x-ray within 5 years plus annual TB questionnaire
• Immunity or vaccination for Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella (positive titer or 2 vaccines; boosters allowed to start pending)
• Hepatitis B series, titer, or declination
• 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start (including marijuana, cocaine, methamphetamine, opiates, PCP, barbiturates, benzodiazepines, methadone, MDMA/MDA)
• Seasonal flu vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption during flu season (11/15 – 03/31); exemptions require mask wearing in patient care areas

Additional Requirements

• Completion of facility-specific orientation modules (up to 21 hours), with final completion deadline 6 business days prior to start
• Annual skills checklist required
• Must carry government-issued photo ID during shifts

Notes

• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required
• Facility uses EPIC for charting
• Scrub color: any solid color except ER (solid black); OR/L&D scrubs provided
