Description
X-Ray Tech (Radiology / Cardiology) - Travel/Contract
Location: Brownwood, Texas
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Wednesday - Friday, 9:30 AM - 11:30 PM (3 shifts per week, 13-week assignment) with on-call duties
Start Date: No later than July 27
Job Description
- Perform diagnostic X-ray procedures in an acute care setting.
- Travel experience and a minimum of 2 years of experience in Radiology / Cardiology required.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Radiology Technologist license in Texas.
- Minimum of 2 years of Radiology Technologist experience, including experience within the last year.
- At least 2 years of total travel experience as a Radiology Technologist.
- ARRT certification.
- BLS certification.
- Experience as an X-Ray Technician.
Required Certifications & Compliance
- ARRT certification number must be provided for facility education department.
- Annual background check and various screenings including 7-year background check, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, and state-specific checks required.
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, to be completed within 72 hours of contract signing.
- Fit mask test (3M 1860 Regular or 1860S), updated annually.
- Immunizations and titers required:
- TDAP (within 10 years)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray (within 1 year) and annual TB questionnaire
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: positive titer or 2 MMR vaccines (boosters if non-immune)
- Hepatitis B: positive titer, series, or declination accepted
- Varicella: positive titer or 2 vaccines (boosters if non-immune)
- Drug testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen with THC within 10 business days prior to start; facility conducts additional drug screen on arrival.
- Flu vaccination or exemption required for 2025-26 season.
Documentation & Onboarding Requirements
- Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID).
- E-Verify or attestation.
- Education verification (transcript or diploma acceptable).
- Resume or employment application copy.
- Two professional references within 3 years.
- Skills checklist updated annually.
- Facility-specific documents and acknowledgments to be reviewed and signed prior to start, including:
- Vaccination information acknowledgment
- TB and occupational exposure acknowledgment
- Patient-centered pledge
- Contract employee receipt and acknowledgment
- Computer security agreement
- Corporate compliance acknowledgment
- Confidentiality statement
- Employee misconduct registry acknowledgment
- Self-identify form
- Relationship to physician form
- Authorization for background check
- Traveler identification form
- Facility orientation modules (~3-4 hours).
- State-specific employability and misconduct registry checks required within 30 days of start.
Additional Notes
- Pass/fail testing and competency exams may be required as applicable.
- Medication/pharmacology competency exam required as applicable.
- Color blindness testing required.
- Orientation safety manual acknowledgment required and updated annually.
This position requires a reliable candidate with strong diagnostic radiology skills, current certifications, and the ability to work a consistent Wednesday through Friday schedule with on-call responsibilities in an acute care environment.
