Description
MRI Tech - Travel/Contract
Location: Charleston, South Carolina
Contract Length: 11 weeks
Position Details
- Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology
- Shift: Day shift, Monday to Thursday, 6:30 AM – 5:00 PM (4x10 hour shifts)
- Daily caseload: Varies
- Holidays: Required to work if they fall on scheduled shift
- On-call: Not required
- Floating: Floating within scope to meet facility needs is expected
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of MRI Technologist experience within the last year
- Certification/Licensure:
- ARRT (MR) or ARMRIT certification required
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required (AHA or ARC accepted)
- Experience with Siemens MRI equipment required
- Must have a valid South Carolina license or be eligible for temporary licensure process (walk-through) if applicable
Facility & Work Environment
- Type: Teaching hospital with Magnet status and Level 1 Trauma center
- Total staffed beds: 865
- Charting system: Epic
- Scrub color: Teal top, black bottom
- Parking: Paid only nights and weekends; one-time $20 parking pass fee
- Radius rule: 60 miles
- Locals accepted on a case-by-case basis
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Background checks including 7 years of history, criminal, sex offender, and national registries
- Employment verification of last 3 clinical employers
- Proof of 2 clinical references or hospital evaluations
- Copy of Driver’s License and Social Security Card required
- Education verification or diploma/transcripts as placeholder if needed
- Annual physical exam attesting ability to meet job demands
- Fit test for N95 mask within 90 days prior to start, renewed annually
- Drug screen: 10-panel urine test within 90 days prior to start
- Immunizations and titers required:
- Tdap within 10 years or declination form
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella: positive titer or vaccination series with boosters if low titer
- Hepatitis B: titer, vaccine series, or declination
- Negative TB test (T-spot or Q-Gold) within 90 days or chest x-ray if prior positive
- Seasonal flu vaccine or medical/religious exemption required during flu season
- COVID-19 vaccination highly preferred; declination form required if not vaccinated
- Color blindness test required prior to start
- Competency exams as applicable
Orientation & Facility Specifics
- Completion of orientation modules and OurDay platform training required before start
- Passport-style badge photo required prior to start
- Travelers assigned to emergency response teams (Storm Teams) during hurricane season (June-November)
- Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks
- All required documents and certifications must be current and not expiring within 30 days of start

- Floating within scope is expected to meet unit needs
- No radiation badge required for MRI Techs (distinct from other Radiology/Cardiology roles)
- Facility uses a radius rule of 60 miles for travel assignments
- Locals may be accepted at a reduced rate on a case-by-case basis
