Job Opportunity: Interventional Radiology Technologist

Schedule

  • Day shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 AM – 5:30 PM)
  • No weekends or holidays required
  • Call shifts available to pick up
  • Bi-campus coverage between two hospital campuses

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Interventional Radiology Technologist license in Connecticut
  • Minimum 1 year of Interventional Radiology Technologist experience within the last year
  • Active ARRT (Radiography) certification (ARRT R)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

  • Valid Driver’s License/State ID matching legal name required on first day
  • 7-year criminal background check within 12 months, updated annually
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start
  • Foreign Equivalency Education Evaluation required for internationally educated candidates
  • Education verification of highest level required; official transcripts may be requested
  • Sex offender search required
  • Physical exam within 12 months of start
  • 10-panel drug screen within 12 months of start
  • Fit mask test within 12 months of start, updated annually (clean shaven required)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray documentation required
  • Annual TB questionnaire required
  • Required vaccinations or proof of immunity: Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B (or declination)
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season
  • COVID vaccination series preferred

Training and Competency Requirements

  • Medication/Pharmacology competency exam required within 12 months, minimum 85% passing score
  • Color blind testing required for all candidates starting on/after 8/2/2024, minimum 80% passing score
  • Various facility-specific training modules and attestations required, including but not limited to:
    • Language Services Training
    • CAUTI Education Training (not required for PICU, NICU, Psychiatry/Behavioral Health)
    • Suicide Risk and Environmental Assessment Training
    • Mobile Heartbeat Alarm Module (exemptions apply)
    • Stroke Education (exemptions apply)
    • CLABSI Prevention Training (exemptions apply)
    • Preventing Pressure Injury Training (exemptions apply)
    • Patient Transportation with Oxygen Education (exemptions apply)
    • Pyxis ES MedStation Modules (exemptions apply)
    • Baxter Pump Interoperability Training
    • Patient Bedside Rounding (exemptions apply)
    • Ventricular Assist Device Awareness (exemptions apply)
    • AME Blood Administration Module (exemptions apply)
    • New Employee Orientation Module
    • 21st Century Cures Act Module (required for Radiology Techs)
    • Fire Safety Module (effective 5/4/2026)
    • Chaperone Policy Training (effective 5/31/2024)
  • EPIC testing or training may be required depending on prior experience

  • 7-year work history with no gaps greater than 90 days required
  • Verification of last 7 years of employment required (attestations not accepted)
  • One supervisor reference within the past year required for Cardio Thoracic ICU/CTICU (not applicable here)

Special Requirements

  • Attestation of prior radiation exposure required for this role and must be updated if there is a 30-day gap between assignments
