Pharmacist Inpatient - Travel/Contract

Location: Kingman, Arizona
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Schedule & Work Hours

• 5 days per week, 8-hour shifts (32-40 hours per week)
• Rotating shifts between 6:00 AM and 10:00 PM
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call duties
• No Return to Office (RTO) restrictions

Job Description & Responsibilities

• Supervise, coordinate, and participate in pharmaceutical services related to preparation and dispensing of drugs and pharmaceutical supplies
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws regarding drug dispensing and narcotics control
• Plan and schedule shift work, ensuring proper assignments and adequate staffing
• Compile charges for prescriptions filled and maintain accountability and cost records
• Maintain communication with medical staff about new pharmaceutical supplies, formulary updates, drug usage, compatibility, and regulations
• Compound, package, and label ointments, solutions, and bulk pharmaceutical supplies according to standard formulas
• Mix prescribed drugs with intravenous solutions as required
• Maintain and support hospital formulary and inventory; reorder and stock drugs and supplies as needed

Required Qualifications

• Valid Hospital Pharmacist license in Arizona
• Minimum of 1 year of Hospital Pharmacist experience within the last year
• Experience in an Acute Care setting
• Experience in an Inpatient setting
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Orientation & Dress Code

• Orientation held every Monday
• Business casual dress code

Facility & Patient Information

• Hospital census approximately 130-150 patients per day

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Government-issued photo ID required
• Background checks including 7-year search, education verification, and various federal/state screenings required and must be updated annually
• Physical exam within 1 year of start date required
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year required; annual TB questionnaire required
• Immunization or titer proof required for:

  • Measles (Rubeola)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B
  • Varicella (Chickenpox)
• 9-panel drug screen within 30 days of start required (instant drug screen acceptable)
• Seasonal flu vaccination or declination required during flu season (October 1 - March 31)
• Two professional references within 3 years required
• Annual skills checklist and competency exams as applicable

Certifications (as applicable)

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) recommended but required as applicable
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) and NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure) as required

• First-time travelers accepted
• Locals and first-time travelers compensated at the same rate
• No prior travel experience required
