Registered Nurse - Cardiovascular Surgery (Travel)

Work Schedule

Day shift, 7 AM to 7 PM
Call required during the week and on weekends

Job Summary

Provide independent nursing care in a cardiovascular surgery setting.
Deliver routine and complex care while managing clinical contingencies.
Make appropriate assignments and delegate tasks to other care providers.
Utilize the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
Address psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families.
Administer medications and treatments per protocol; monitor side effects and effectiveness.
Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided.
Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, families, and caregivers.

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Louisiana
Minimum 1 year of Cardiovascular Unit (CVU) experience within the last year
Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) experience
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA)
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Additional Notes

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
Must be able to work call shifts on weekdays and weekends
