Description

Job Opportunity: Nuclear Medicine Tech

Location: Dallas, Texas
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Work Schedule

  • Monday to Friday, Day shift (8:00 AM – 4:30 PM)
  • 40 hours per week (5 days x 8 hours)
  • On-call, weekends, and holidays may be required

Required Certifications and Licenses

  • Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) certification required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) may be required depending on unit
  • Verification of state licensure for Nuclear Medicine Tech required

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Valid Nuclear Medicine Technologist license in Texas
  • Minimum of 1 year of Nuclear Medicine Technologist experience within the last year
  • Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) certification
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

  • Valid government-issued photo ID or passport (name must match all documentation)
  • E-Verify or attestation required
  • Background checks within 30 days of start, including:
    • 7-year county criminal background search for all locations lived/worked
    • Sex offender search
    • State police investigation for behavioral health (if applicable)
    • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks
  • Education verification for Nuclear Medicine Tech education
  • Physical exam within 12 months of start
  • Drug testing: 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start (no rapid screens)
  • Fit mask test completed onsite during orientation, updated annually
  • Negative TB test (TSpot or QGold) within 12 months of start; annual updates required
  • Immunization or positive titer documentation for:
    • Hepatitis B (vaccine series and/or positive titer or signed declination)
    • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella (2 MMR vaccines or positive titers with boosters if needed)
    • Varicella (2 vaccines or positive titer with boosters if needed)
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap required for all travelers
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31)

Competency and Testing Requirements

  • Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam: must pass with 80% or higher; two attempts allowed
  • Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam required for certain specialties; verify if applicable
  • Pass/fail testing required for all RNs, LVNs/LPNs, and Cath Lab Techs (may not apply to Nuclear Medicine Tech)
  • Candidates must sign acknowledgment of pass/fail testing policies

Facility-Specific Requirements

  • Photo for badge (passport style, head and shoulders, clear background)
  • Completion of facility-specific forms prior to start, including:
    • Job description acknowledgment
    • Non-employee internet access form
    • Security questionnaire
    • Vaccine exemption forms if applicable
  • For ER RNs only: 2 hours of Texas Forensic Evidence Collection training (not applicable here)

References

  • Two professional references within the last 3 years required

Additional Notes

  • Candidates should confirm specific unit requirements for ACLS and other certifications as needed
  • Onboarding documentation and credentialing must be completed prior to start date
  • On-call, weekend, and holiday shifts may be required depending on unit needs
