Job Opportunity: Infusion Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)
Location: Lansing, Michigan
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Details
- Role: Infusion Registered Nurse
- Shift: Four 10-hour day shifts per week (7:30 AM – 6:00 PM)
- No night shifts, floating, or on-call duties
- Weekend shifts every other weekend
- Unit accepts first-time travelers
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Michigan
- Minimum 1 year of infusion nursing experience within the last year
- ONS Chemotherapy and Immunotherapy Certification
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Experience with Epic electronic health record system
Required Certifications & Competencies
- Chemotherapy and immunotherapy certification (ONS)
- BLS certification
- Unit-specific competency exam (no expiration)
- Medication test/pharmacology competency exam (no expiration)
Background and Compliance Requirements
- Valid driver’s license or state ID (must be current throughout assignment)
- Social Security card
- E-Verify compliance
- Background check within 30 days of assignment start, including:
- 7-year social security number trace
- National criminal history search (7 years)
- National sex offender database search
- FACIS Level 3 search
- Education verification (highest level required)
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start
- Physical exam within 12 months of start (must note latex sensitivity)
- 10-panel drug screen with THC within 30 days of start (no medical marijuana cards or dilute screens accepted)
- Fit test for N95 mask within 12 months of start (specific mask types required)
- Tdap vaccine within 10 years or declination on file
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray per protocol
- Immunity documentation or vaccination for:
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella (2 MMR vaccines or titers)
- Varicella (2 vaccines or titer)
- Hepatitis B (positive titer, vaccination series, or declination)
- Seasonal flu vaccination or declination required during flu season (Oct 1 – Mar 31)
Documentation and Onboarding
- Resume with 7-year work history
- Two professional references from previous employers
- Completion of facility-specific documents and modules onsite at orientation
- Signed individual access agreement prior to start
- OSHA respirator form completed at least 1 week prior to start
- TB questionnaire annually (in lieu of updated TB test if continuously assigned)
Additional Information
- Prior travel experience is not required
- No night, floating, or on-call shifts
- Candidates must complete all required documentation and certifications prior to start
- Fingerprinting required only for select Michigan locations (not applicable here)
This position offers a structured day shift schedule with infusion nursing responsibilities, requiring specialized chemotherapy certification and experience with Epic systems. It is suitable for nurses with at least one year of experience, including those new to travel nursing.
