Job Opportunity: CVOR Tech

Location: Loveland, Colorado
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Position Details

  • Specialty: Surgical Services (Cardiovascular Operating Room)
  • Shifts:
    • Option 1: 3 shifts of 12 hours (06:30 - 19:00)
    • Option 2: 4 shifts of 10 hours (06:30 - 17:00)
  • Call Requirement:
    • 1 night per week
    • 1 weekend per month (Friday 17:00 to Monday 06:00)
  • Weekend Requirement: Yes, as needed per unit
  • Number of OR rooms: 12
  • Charting system: Epic
  • Staffing ratio: 1-2 RNs and 1 Surgical Tech per room
  • Floating: No floating between units required
  • Purpose: Support dual call teams on weekends for cardiac and vascular cases and assist with onboarding two new surgeons

Required Qualifications

  • Valid CVOR Technologist license in Colorado
  • Minimum 2 years of Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) Technologist experience
  • CVOR Technologist experience within the last year
  • Current BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA)

Required Documentation & Compliance

  • Valid Driver’s License/State ID (clear copies front and back)
  • E-Verify or Attestation
  • Proof of legal name change if applicable
  • Background checks within 60 days of start including:
    • 7-year background check with SSN trace, Colorado CBI, education verification, sex offender search, OFAC sanctions list
    • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks
  • Education verification or transcript/diploma (accredited programs only)
  • State license verification within 60 days of start
  • Employment application and work history verification covering last 3 years (gaps >30 days must be explained)
  • Two professional references from the last two years (one from last year), from Charge RN, Manager, or Supervisor level
  • Skills checklist annually
  • Colorado CAPS check results within 60 days of start

Health & Safety Requirements

  • Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, DO, NP, or PA (not Chiropractor)
  • Fit mask test within 12 months of start, updated annually (specific 3M masks required; onsite testing available)
  • Immunizations and titers:
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap within 10 years or signed declination
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year, with annual TB questionnaire if positive
    • Measles, Mumps, Rubella: Positive MMR IGG titer or 2 vaccines; boosters required if titers negative/equivocal
    • Hepatitis B: Positive titer, completed vaccine series, or declination
    • Varicella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines; boosters if titer negative/equivocal
  • Drug testing within 30 days of start and annually (comprehensive panel including amphetamines, benzodiazepines, cocaine, opiates, etc.)
  • COVID-19 vaccination proof or signed declination (acceptable vaccines: AstraZeneca, Pfizer, Moderna)
  • Color blindness testing via Ishihara exam (online testing not accepted for new candidates)

Competency Requirements

  • Medication/Pharmacology competency exam within 1 year, updated annually
  • Core competency exams (Parts I, II, III) within 1 year, updated annually
  • OSHA mandatory training within 1 year, updated annually
  • Competency exam with minimum 80% score, updated annually

Additional Information

  • Candidates with employment gaps of 15+ days are considered new and must meet full background and compliance requirements
  • Candidates must confirm renewal plans for certifications expiring within 90 days of start to avoid clearance issues
  • Facility-specific new employee orientation modules must be completed within the first two weeks of assignment
