Registered Nurse (RN) – Acute Rehab (Nights)
Location: Petoskey, Michigan
Employment Type: Temporary

Job Description
- Provide inpatient rehabilitation nursing care for acutely ill patients across the lifespan with multiple body systems involved.
- Use clinical reasoning to evaluate patients with unstable medical conditions and collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop individualized plans of care.
- Assess, monitor, and intervene to prevent physiological complications and promote optimal health.
- Integrate care within scope of practice, licensure, education, and experience.
- Follow policies and procedures and meet unit-specific competency objectives.
- Report to shift Team Leader and Department Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with healthcare team to develop, implement, and evaluate individualized written plans of care based on physiological, psychosocial, and spiritual assessments.
- Utilize Clinical Practice Model (CPM) and “Caring-Quality Model” in patient care.
- Demonstrate leadership by sharing knowledge and serving as a clinical resource and role model.
- Communicate effectively using SBAR and interdisciplinary methods.
- Manage time efficiently and assist team members to enhance overall team performance.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Michigan
- Minimum 2 years of rehabilitation nursing experience, including experience within the last year
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Ability to work night shifts with 12-hour shifts
Additional Information
- Strict 3-strike attendance policy: termination after 3 absences or late arrivals (over 20 minutes) unless excused for communicable disease or hospitalization with documentation. Policy effective starting 6/1/2024.
- Located in a scenic resort community along Little Traverse Bay, northern lower peninsula of Michigan.
- Nonbillable initial hours and specific overtime/holiday/callback markups apply (not included here).
- Local traveler policy reduces travel rate by 10% for those living within 35 miles of the facility.
This position is ideal for experienced acute rehab RNs seeking a temporary night shift role in a supportive, collaborative inpatient setting.
