Description
Cath Lab Tech - Travel/Contract
Location: Olympia, Washington
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day shift, 4x10 hour shifts (6:30 AM - 5:00 PM)
Hours per Week: 40
Job Summary
- Work in Cardiac Cath Services performing diagnostic procedures, PCI (stents, balloon angioplasty, laser, rota, impella, IABP, CTO), Structural Heart procedures (TAVR, Balloon Valvuloplasty, Watchman), and Electrophysiology (EPS, Afib/Flutter ablations, BIV and pacemaker implants).
- On-call required: 1 call day per week and one weekend every 5-6 weeks.
- Rhythm interpretation skills preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Cath Lab Technologist license in Washington.
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a Cath Lab Technologist, with experience within the last year.
- Current certifications/licenses:
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- ARRT-R or CCI certification.
Facility Type
- Short Term Acute Care hospital with 325 staffed beds.
- Charting system: EPIC.
Background and Compliance Requirements
- Background check within 90 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in the past 7 years; must be updated annually.
- Various state and federal background screenings including EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and updated monthly.
- Education verification required for all candidates.
- Drug screening: 9-panel drug screen within 12 months of start (instant acceptable).
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO, confirming ability to work.
- Immunizations and health documents required:
- TDAP (Tetanus/Diphtheria/Pertussis) within 10 years or declination accepted.
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, updated annually.
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer.
- Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination.
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer.
- Seasonal flu vaccine during flu season or declination.
- COVID vaccination record preferred; declinations accepted with adherence to masking policies.
- Respirator safety clearance required annually for travel candidates.
- Fit mask testing required annually for travel candidates.
Documentation and Training
- Must provide government-issued photo ID and Social Security card as applicable.
- Employment application covering at least last 5 years required.
- Minimum of 2 professional references covering 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty/setting.
- Annual completion of regulatory and specialty-specific training modules via LMS (Workramp).
- EPIC training modules required and must be completed within a week of orientation.
Additional Notes
- On-call and weekend coverage required as part of the role.
- Travel contract only; local candidates within 50 miles excluded.
- All required licenses and certifications must be current and valid before start.
- Background and health compliance must be fully met prior to assignment start.
This position is ideal for experienced Cath Lab Technologists with required certifications and a minimum of 1 year of specialty experience, ready for a 13-week travel assignment in Olympia, WA, working day shifts with on-call responsibilities.
