Description

Physical Therapist (PT) - Travel Position

Location: Santa Fe, New Mexico
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 10:30 AM – 6:00 PM (8-hour shift)
Start Date: ASAP


Job Summary

  • Provide outpatient physical therapy services focusing on neuromusculoskeletal and cardiorespiratory systems.
  • Assess and treat patients to maintain or restore function impaired by injury or disease, manage pain, and promote mobility and health as prescribed by a physician.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor individualized plans of care.
  • Administer and oversee all physical therapy modalities and treatments.
  • Collaborate with patients, families, interdisciplinary teams, and referring physicians.
  • Supervise PT Assistants and Rehabilitation Assistants, including on-the-job training.
  • Maintain detailed patient treatment records and complete discharge summaries.
  • Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement activities.
  • Maintain professional competence through continuing education.

Responsibilities

  • Verify physician orders before evaluation and treatment.
  • Conduct thorough patient evaluations including chart review and objective measurements.
  • Apply or supervise treatments such as therapeutic exercises, hot/cold therapy, ultrasound, electrical stimulation, gait and balance training, and soft tissue mobilization.
  • Monitor patient tolerance and treatment effects, communicating changes to physicians as needed.
  • Organize and instruct patients and families on home exercise programs.
  • Ensure documentation accurately reflects treatment sessions and time spent.
  • Maintain productivity standards.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Physical Therapist license in New Mexico.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Physical Therapist, with experience within the last year.
  • Education: Doctorate, Master’s, Bachelor’s, or Associate’s Degree in Physical Therapy.
  • BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association.
