Registered Nurse – PCU (Progressive Care Unit)
Location: Greenwood, South Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Unit: Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
- Shift: Day shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
- Hours per week: 36
- Weekend work required
- Local candidates accepted within a 50-mile radius
- First-time travelers accepted
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in South Carolina
- Minimum 1 year of Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Certifications:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by American Red Cross or American Heart Association
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID) must be carried during shifts
- Social Security Card or Number required
- Proof of E-Verify or Attestation
- Background checks:
- 7-year criminal background check covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start and updated for renewals
- NURSYS verification for RN license
- Physical exam attesting ability to meet job demands (initial and annual updates)
- Immunizations and health screenings:
- Tdap within last 10 years (or approved declination)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year (updated annually)
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella (titer or 2 vaccines each)
- Hepatitis B (titer, vaccine series, or declination)
- Varicella (titer or 2 vaccines)
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved declination (current flu season requirements apply)
- COVID vaccine, medical/religious exemption, or declination required
- Drug screening:
- 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start (instant acceptable)
- Photo for badge required
Additional Requirements
- Proof of 2 clinical references (hospital evaluations accepted) within the past year
- Completion of skills checklist for applicable unit, updated annually
- Competency exams and medication/pharmacology competency as applicable
- Orientation safety manual acknowledgement and onboarding modules completion prior to orientation
Notes
- Prior travel experience is not required for this position.
- Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification is not required for PCU but may be required for other units.
- If background checks are pending at start date, instant searches are acceptable temporarily.
- Performance evaluations are collected internally and do not need to be submitted by the candidate.
