Job Opportunity: Cath Lab Registered Nurse

Location: Issaquah, Washington
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Work in cardiac catheterization or interventional radiology settings including STEMI, EP Lab, interventional and procedural areas.
  • Responsibilities include biopsies (GI, GU/Renal, Peripheral Vascular), stent placement, blood/blood products administration, cardioversion/defibrillation, use of cooling/warming blankets, obtaining 12 Lead EKGs, and managing syringe pumps.
  • On-call requirement: One weekday and one weekend per month minimum. Shift hours typically 10 hours (7:00 AM - 5:30 PM), 4 days per week (40 hours). Additional days and weekends may be required depending on staffing and vacation.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Washington.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Cardiac Cath Lab, with experience within the last year.
  • Completion of at least one travel assignment.
  • ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association.
  • BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association.
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
  • Proficient in cardioversion and defibrillation.

Required Skills & Competencies

  • Proficient in cardiac catheterization and interventional radiology procedures.
  • Skilled in blood/blood products administration and emergency cardiac interventions (cardioversion/defibrillation).
  • Ability to operate cooling/warming blankets, obtain 12 Lead EKGs, and manage syringe pumps.

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

  • Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID).
  • Social Security Card (as applicable for I9 verification).
  • Background check within 90 days covering all locations lived/worked in the past 7 years; must be updated annually.
  • Education verification and transcript/diploma (required if internationally educated).
  • NURSYS license verification for RNs.
  • Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO, confirming ability to work with or without accommodation.
  • Immunizations and health screenings:
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months (annual updates required).
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within 10 years (declination accepted).
    • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer.
    • Varicella vaccination or positive titer.
    • Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination.
    • Seasonal flu vaccine during flu season (declination accepted).
    • COVID-19 vaccination record preferred; declinations not required but unvaccinated must follow infection prevention protocols.
  • Drug screening: 9-panel drug screen within 12 months of start (instant acceptable).
  • Respiratory safety clearance for respirator use, medically cleared annually (travel only).
  • Completion of required annual regulatory and specialty-specific training modules via LMS (Workramp).
  • Photo for badge (passport style with neutral background).

Additional Requirements

  • Must complete WA Multi-State Licensed Nurses Demographic Attestation if working with an out-of-state compact license in Washington.
  • Float policy acknowledgment: may be required to float to other nearby facilities.
  • Minimum of 2 professional references covering at least 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty/setting within the last 3 years.
  • Employment application covering at least the last 5 years of employment with month/year format for dates worked.

Shift Details

  • Day shift, 4 days per week, 10-hour shifts (7:00 AM - 5:30 PM).
  • On-call one weekday and one weekend per month minimum.

This position is ideal for experienced travel Registered Nurses with cardiac cath lab or interventional radiology expertise seeking a 13-week contract in Washington state.
