Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical (Travel/Contract)

Location: Greeneville, Tennessee
Shift: Night (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each; 18:30–7:00)
Schedule: 36 hours per week (36/36 schedule)
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Patient ratio: 1:7
• Floating between units required
• No on-call duties
• Traveler’s permanent residence must be at least 100 miles from the hospital’s service area
• General orientation includes 16 hours of non-billable time, starting on Sundays with online compliance training
• Hospital may cancel or call off one shift biweekly without penalty due to census changes
• Additional overtime shifts may be assigned flexibly based on census without penalty
• Expected to actively participate in nursing student support and clinical education alongside clinical care

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Tennessee
• Minimum of 1 year of Medical-Surgical nursing experience, with recent experience within the last year
• American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Orientation & Compliance

• Orientation includes online compliance training and general orientation starting Sundays
• Must complete facility-specific documents including dress code, smoking/tobacco use policy, contaminated sharps exposure statement, influenza policy, and respirator medical evaluation questionnaire within specified timeframes after contract signing
• Physical exam required within 1 year of start date (not required annually)
